Forget what Jerry said in August. He said what he had to say in the moment, being put on the spot on live TV. It wasn't a planned announcement.

I'll repost my comment when a thread about this came up last year.
Jones has told his children that
A) If I pass away before Johnson - they can induct him in the ROH when and how they see fit.
B) If Johnson passes away before me - I will arrange the ceremony soon afterwards.

It's not what Jerry says, it's what he doesn't say that should grab your attention. Even then, he did not say Jimmy belonged in the ROH and would see to it that it would happen. He kept his whiskey hole shut. At that time, i knew he would never do that. His jealousy and hate for Jimmy is still simmering due to his failures of getting back on top.

His boat is called three rings, because we won two rings in the NFL and one at the University of Miami. But he did not win three SB. The team he built won 3 SB's, but Jimmy didn't.

Jerry doesn't want to put Jimmy in the ring of honor, until he wins a SB without Jimmy's finger prints on it.

Jerry will place himself in the Ring of Honor before Jimmy goes in. Pure ego. No way Jerry could stand seeing JJ’s name in the ROH and his own name not there. It would be like Jerry admitting that Jimmy could have done it without him.

Jerry holds a serious grudge against Jimmy. Jimmy is looked at as the brains of the cowboys when they were successful. It's why Jerry hires puppets now, so he can take all the credit if they win another super bowl.

He'll never put Jimmy in the ROH.

It is embarrassing the JJ is in the NFL hall of Fame but isn't considered important to the team he coached. Jerry is a bitter, old fool and history will not be kind to him.
