I don’t even want any FAs at this point, they’re going nowhere without a RB. Yea they will probably still with the East. I wish we could fast forward a couple years.
Yeah I don't think the running game has any kind of shot to be better this season.

No way Schultz and Elliott aren't out there and they won't be able to make it work that way unless they get very lucky with the draft and the right people get injured.

Pathetic but true. 2022 will be about Daks arm. I'm just hoping the light goes on afterwards.

It's a catch 22. When we resign our guys they shut it down and never live up to their contract. At least when we sign a free agent they'll give great effort for at least half the season to prove they are still good. Who's the last great pick up we had - Charles Haley, Dieon?

Keep the draft pick and restructure Cooper’s contract. Problem solved. Not that difficult.

It is that difficult if the organization were determined to make the Cooper decision " personal " ...?

Seems like they were not interested in 'restructuring " ..and keeping Amari here long term,.. they were more interested and determined in finding a way to get him off this team.

Aww man. I can't wait to see him traded for peanuts just for us to say we offered a 7th!!!

These are the moves I just dont understand. You have Cooper set at $20 million for this and the next two seasons. So you don't want Cooper at $20 per ... but are interested in Cooks a $16.2? So you trade Cooper for a 5th ... then you're desperate for another receiver. So you likely send a higher pick to pick up Cooks. He then will then want paid again?

I just don't get it

It's not out of the question to me (a better run game) .. it will be totally up to how and if we significantly upgrade at OL and blocking TE,.. and if our coaching makes a significant
step up in scheme and design, instead of the plain ole Jane predictable approach.

$16.2 million is the Texans cap hit. We'd only inherit his base contract as our cap hit - $12.5 million.

EDIT: He had a roster bonus of $725K which was paid by the Texans, so the Cowboys wouldn't inherit that. But he does have an additional $500K roster bonues (approx. $29K per game). So his cap hit for us appears to be around $13 million.

Cooks really is an anomaly.

Six 1,000+ yard seasons in eight years playing in the league and with four different teams.
Yeah, I can't figure out the reason teams are always dumping him. He must be some major locker room pariah or something. Maybe his cap hit is too big for his production?

Same w/ Mathieu. Produces everywhere, but no one wants to keep him.

Our "best in the league" offense really hasn't garnered any additional playoff wins. Maybe a change of offensive philosophy will help?

Cook is a 4.33 guy who has posted over 1,000 yards receiving 6 out of 8 season and 46 TD. Having said that I would not give up a 1st rd pick for him.
