How embarassing that someone thinks that breaking all kinds of Cowboy's passing records and finishing top 5 in multiple passing categories does not equate to "elite passer"

Some mythical measurements must exist that I am not aware of to attain this label.

How embarrassing that someone can only see football through meaningless garbage time statistics instead of what is actually happening on the field.

Physically? Yes... Mentally no. More than 60% of a qb game is mental, the rest is mechanics and ability. I think he is almost there if he can shore up a few more items in his game.

You're missing the point. By producing, Prescott is doing his part. It's a team sport.
"Garbage time" isn't real. The game is 60 minutes whether you like it or not.

Couple things to consider. A lot of average QB's have put up big numbers since the league started slanting the rules to protect them and promote offense.

Definition of elite talent "select group that is superior in terms of ability or qualities to the rest of a group". When you compare him to his peers, he clearly isn't in the select group in terms of superior ability.

The offense is responsible for down statistics. This isn't just about dak. No one is saying Brady is middle of the pack. Or that Cousins is more productive than Brady and Rodgers.

Even if they dont score on that drive they keep their defense off the field for another set of downs. When they do score after Stafford keeps a drive going after a 3rd and 8+ that sways the momentum of a game so much.

I looked this up because I remember not feeling defeated in 3rd and long situations. Lately 3rd and long has felt like a surefire punt/FG. Numbers seem to back that up.

The stat is the stat and it's applied to every team equally. Your pointing to surrounding cast and other QBs doesn't change the fact he was dead last.

It's a cherry picked point nonetheless and not equal at all, it's meaningless. It doesn't factor in anything, lol. This is simple stuff. One team could be more penalized to put them at 3rd and long. Their run game could be stifled. The QB could throw incompletions on 1st & 2nd. On and on.

Weird how you need all these other factors to contextualize this stat but others are taken at face value, i.e. completion percentage.

It's not a stat about how they got to 3rd and long. It's a stat saying how many times they converted 3rd and long. Dak converted third and long the same amount of times as Justin Fields but had more attempts to do it.
