Is there an actual plan for this season?

Lol if you actual believe that’s how this team will think and operate

Look back into Cowboy's history. Jerry once tanked the team for 3 seasons in a row. Time to burn it down and rebuild it again.

Of course he would. Operating this team is just chump change to him. What's 250million investment when you make a billion every year. Schultz is just a one year signing in order to draft the next Witten. Last season was supposed to be our season to win it all and Dak choked the last seven games. Time to rebuild and start the next generation of players to win it all. Dallas needs time in the cellar to winnow out the losers.
He doesn't make a billion a year from the Cowboys. And losing to get rid of the losers...that just sounds crazy.
:omg:

So far there doesn't seem to be anything that makes us fans believe we will be better than we were last season. I'm trying to remain hopeful, without over doing it. These 20+ ……!!

Come up with a plan, a winning plan that makes sense........! Please give your thoughts

Yes, its called a Prayer !

Apparently the plan is to see if we can win by not spending much money with a less talented roster.

So far there doesn't seem to be anything that makes us fans believe we will be better than we were last season. I'm trying to remain hopeful, without over doing it. These 20+ years of not winning anything major except building our STATS and filling Jerry's pockets, is taking a toll on so many of us.

Is the plan to build solely on the draft, and go from there with free agency? I can see why they may not be signing VETS for this one reason. At this point in their careers, these guys don't want to do training camp, OTA'S etc, they want to come back around pre season. In which you'll see them on the PUP list for a few weeks, then they're able to play!

Back to the draft, if we're truly building through the draft, realistically how many of these players drafted will make enough of an impact to help us this season. Let's not forget the players we drafted last year.

There has to be a plan, the cowboys fan base deserves something to get us excited about. At this point, we're losing hope. I don't want them to start making genius moves either to somehow try and appeal to us. Just be smart, and make good moves!!

Plan?
We don't need no stinkin plan !!!

You must be joking. Jerry was an oil wildcatter. He takes maximum risk with his investments and admits he loses on quite a few. Only about 3 in 10 wildcat oil wells make money or break even. Actually, very few know just how much money Jerry clears in profits each year. The Star and his other investments make a load of money.

It’s no different than the previous 26 years. Vastly oversell the roster. Sprinkle in plenty of hopium. Pump up fans to promote ticket sales, merchandise and concessions. Maximize profit. Ultimately disappoint on the field. Maintain control. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Sound like you made up your mind.

Guys like me? You mean because I don’t cry one weeek into FA?

Common sense to wait and see till after the draft and FA. And there definitely players in the draft and FA that can move the needle.

List for us these players in FA that are left that the Cowboys might have legitimate interest in that would move the needle and greatly improve the roster.

And yes, of course there are players in the draft that can help. But how likely is it the Cowboys can draft 3-4 in just one draft? Because that's pretty much what Dallas needs to do if they want to improve this roster over the roster that lost to San Fran.

Soooooo, like I said he doesn't make a billion dollars a year off the Cowboys. A large partion of his net worth comes from owning the Cowboys. But it's net worth and actually earnings is two different things. All owners net about 150 million a year from the NFL.

The "Prime Directive" is too make money, to be "in the black..."

Beyond that... there is no "Plan" that you or I would understand...

I was pretty clear I said the draft and FA. Depends on who we get in the draft.

roster will improve just from all the 2nd and 3rd year players. But if you want to cry be my guest.

your needle is broke

so the draft and FAs will fill those holes. More to come ie post draft cuts , post June 1st cuts..so take that needle have it redone and come back with common sense..noone here seems to have it.needles don't need to move with big names and big contracts. umm kkkk get over it..i also stated trades can happen all the way to the trade deadline. Again all this negative judgement 6months before game was is straight ignorant lack of patience and common sense..
Do you really need to answer everything confrontationally?

You said draft AND FA. So what names in FA would improve what we had last year (and in some cases lost this off-season)?

It's called TANK! in preparation for Payton next season. Next year will be a firesale on large contracts. We may even draft Dak's eventual replacement. It's past time for a 2x15 season. Lots of dead wood coaches and
players on this team now.
Most of the dead wood comes out of the executive branch where as 26 years of losing tells us all we need to know.

It's impossible at this point to be able to look at this team on paper and say it's better than it was on paper going into last year.

That's based on who is left that they can possibly add. I'm not sure how anyone looks at a particular draft and says things will change big time afterward. They are rookies and a good percentage bust anyway.

The hope is that guys from the 2021 draft can step up and provide unexpected help.

Much like we didn't expect the defense to be as good as it was last year.

But as far as looking at the roster on paper and saying we have improved....that ship has sailed.

I don't see who is left....and while it's nice to say we will add a couple of shiny draft picks.....in reality they don't move the needle all that much unless we are counting on landing another Parsons. Thats akin to banking on hitting the lottery to pay next month's bills.

This is a perfect question for Jerry’s wagon train story!

Is Jerry Jones real goal being to: 1 win a super bowl before he goes or 2 be the richest man in his cemetery? #2 is looking good for him I must say.

My guess is the season will offer up the 3 coaching options of Payton, Quinn or Moore.

As to how any of these guys is to become the next HC of Dallas is my only uncertainty going forward.

My Captain Obvious gut instinct anticipates one of the above being chosen but have no idea how all the DRAMA will unfold in actually leading up to this event.

Stay tuned.
I will be totally shocked if Sean Payton is ever the HC here. He’s a real NFL HC who would expect to have the kind of authority Jerry hasn’t given a HC in nearly 20 years. Unless there are MAJOR changes at the top of this organization Sean Payton isn’t coming to Big D.
