Derek Carr just signed an extension worth 121.5 million for 3 years which will drop Dak down another spot to #7.

well folloing the illogic of a few here last year and as they argue, ...he was second highest paid QB last year and expectations were to be elite. now he is 7th paid (as predicted it would drop) and no longer in elite paid category, should expectations be for not elite level play.

I am sure everyone will say 160M is elite no matter what (moving goal post and changing logic of argument).....

Disclaimer: this doesn't mean I am saying its ok to play bad. this doesn't mean I think he is any good or not good. this doesn't mean I don't expect him to play well. the intent is to only follow up on the logic that was presented by many last year.

So since most of the QB's being paid more than Dak are in the AFC, does that mean we can expect a second place finish in the NFC?

expectation for Dak is still to win and compete for a SB. However I have said if from the get go, it is the market value of the position. Dak did not set the market.

I don't really give a crap where he is ranked in relation to the league......he is paid too much in Dallas for what he can bring to the offense. Overpaying for a QB who has an average arm and below average intelligence when it comes to reading defenses. Plus now he is less mobile. He ain't no rookie or spring chicken anymore, i think what we see is what we will continue to get.

The problem is not only that Dak is overpaid. The real problem is that he seems incapable of leading this team to a super bowl. He just doesn't play well against good teams until we get far enough in a hole that the opposing defense backs into schemes more designed to prevent big plays and keep the clock moving.

Unlike the owner’s ridiculous statement after signing Romo, there is 0 connection to how Prescott is paid and how he will play.

I also do not expect him to fulfill this contract as it is. They will try and extend him before it matures as they should have done on this one.

The price to pay at franchise QB shows no sign of slowing and every team has to have that guy to play the game.

Expect Wilson to be #2 before too long (if not higher since he always seems to maximize leverage). Jackson, assuming that he understands risk, will be top 5 soon as well. Burrow will be an interesting negotiation with the cheapskate Bengals.
