Remember when many on here wanted to swap Dak for Carr?
Would you all complain about this contract if Carr was here?

I will post this comparison now, before all of you say NO, you would not whine...

So Derek Carr has signed a 3-year, $121.5M contract extension which puts him in the $40M per club.

Where is the outrage that he isn't worth that much like there was for Dak? Carr has played in only 1 playoff game which he lost and has a losing record for his career (57-70) with only 2 winning seasons in his 8 year career.

Dak is better in virtually every passing/QB category except sacks. His record over 6 years is 53-32 and a 1-3 record in the playoffs (so he's actually won a game).

I took that from somewhere else. Tear it down.
Are we using W/L as solely a QB stat and ignoring that Derek Carr never had 3 All-Pro offensives linemen and a 2 time rushing title winner? Derek Carr has had a 1,000 yard RB TWICE in his career.

Derek Carr, just this year, did something that Dak has never done. That's lead a team to the playoffs without a 1,000 yard RB.

Did you see what the Raiders went through this season with Gruden, Ruggs, and so on? Dak struggles when things aren't perfect while Carr seems to thrive in it.

Carr's stock went up a lot this season, hence the contract, while Dak's stock went down.

Derek Carr just signed an extension worth 121.5 million for 3 years which will drop Dak down another spot to #7.

Yeah all it cost us to retain him was Cooper and Randy and no activity in free agency. No biggie. Yes the Cowboys could have spent and restructured all their contracts but the reality is that isn't how this franchise operates. And so in a practical sense that was the cost.

People act as if the repercussions are suddenly less/non-existent now.
What about when he was making less than 700,000 a year?

But is he our greatest burden ? Where are without him? You have faith these idiots in skybox will do better?
Jerry is the greatest burden because he makes the bad decisions like giving Dak that contract.

Dak's contract makes him the biggest burden as a player because his talents are not in the same universe as his contract.

The market routinely resets. This is standard. It has nothing to do with what fans think he's worth.

They keep moving the goalpost. One guy claims he’s overpaid until he drops to 15th. Another said 32nd, but I assume he was joking.

See we panicked for no reason, Dak now has a reasonable contract as a tier 2 good but not elite QB. We can all rest easier knowing the true elite QBs are paid more!!!

Yeah, typical excuses. If it was Dak, you would not support him like that.
How about all the OL injuries and defensive injuries that did not help or support Dak in that same time frame.

Excuses, I was waiting for it....your hate precedes you.

A REAL QB would overcome all what you said Carr went through...as for Dak...he still won his games....

well folloing the illogic of a few here last year and as they argue, ...he was second highest paid QB last year and expectations were to be elite. now he is 7th paid (as predicted it would drop) and no longer in elite paid category, should expectations be for not elite level play.

I am sure everyone will say 160M is elite no matter what (moving goal post and changing logic of argument).....

Disclaimer: this doesn't mean I am saying its ok to play bad. this doesn't mean I think he is any good or not good. this doesn't mean I don't expect him to play well. the intent is to only follow up on the logic that was presented by many last year.

How is being the 6th highest paid qb, and only behind the 5th and 4th by 3 million not considered "Elite," pay?

My problem with these contracts is teams allowing no trade clauses added in to them. IMO, this is insane. The Texans were totally handcuffed in getting rid of Watson. This is now going to be in EVERY QB contract in a few short years. Then, it is going to start filtering into WRs, DEs and eventually in to most higher level players contracts and if you think the cap hinders teams abilities to field a team, these contracts are going to totally screw teams over. Not that trades have been a big thing in the NFL, but trades are clearly happening more and more and allowing the player to have all the control is a huge mistake IMO.

BBBB SSSS....the narrative is so false and untrue that it takes ridiculousness to another level. We offered Randy a contract. again, we offered Randy a contract. Stephen decided to change the language and Randy bolted....so don't tell me we lost Randy because of money.....obviously we had the money to make the offer.

we were stupid to let Cooper go and create a mess of the WR group. obviously Cooper re-did his contract and reduced it by 15M...we have about 25M under the cap at this point, which includes Cooper dead money which would have been more than his reduced contract now.... yeah 19M on the cap ain't the reason we lost those two....go fish for something else

Dislaimer: this doesn't mean I think Dak is good or bad as a QB or that I don't expect him to play well or lowering my expectations of wanting him to play at a level that takes us to a superbowl.

I’d bet the farm that when he drops below 10, you’ll still complain.
Of course I'll say that.

That why I literally said, and I quote "Until he is somewhere around 15th he will be overpaid."

You know I said this as in another post you reference me by saying, in your own words, "They keep moving the goalpost. One guy claims he’s overpaid until he drops to 15th. Another said 32nd, but I assume he was joking."

You're always going to believe people are "moving the goalpost" when you so easily forget and get wrong where the goal post actually is.

You will complain regardless…why even force a lie out?
