No surprise to me at least, but no team I spoke with had a first-round grade on Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum. It was all early second round.-Tony Pauline
Wow!! I have a feeling that Zion is the number 1 center prospect by the NFL scouts. All I am hearing is he play center.

People are just scared of the fact that he isn't an absolute behemoth. The dude will be a good or great center in the NFL. His bend and athleticism at the point of attack are perfect for cutting off linebackers in the second level and he has proven he can handle the big nose tackles he faced in the Big10.

Pick him in the second round if you want but the guy will be a good starter.

Cavanaugh said he will be an all pro center within a few years and the Cowboys should draft him if he falls to 24.:laugh::facepalm::facepalm:
Jeff says alt f stuff that never happens.I recall that short safety last year from TCU that he claimed was the best in the draft. What happened to that guy I wonder? I havent heard much. I like Jeff and his passion, but many times he falls in love with the player instead of facts. He's a smallish center and will struggle. I think the kid will be similar to Tyler B..our center. Not bad, but not a great player. I defer to Jeff on some stuff, but this guy I disagree with him on. That said, if he's there in 2 late, I may trade up and nab him. The value then will be great.

To me it screams Creed Humphrey. I know Creed is much bigger (6-5, 320), but Creed was also projected an early first round pick before his last season. He slid to the late 2nd round ... now kid is a stud at center.

I don't think Linderbaum is an option here. He is smaller and would benefit from a zone blocking scheme. I would love to slide down into the early 2nd and pick him up.

agree and hes gonna need some work, and development. In time maybe he can add weight. I see him as a late 2 or early 3 guy. The value at 24 just isnt there.

I can tell who actually watches football and who doesn’t based on these replies. Early 2nd (top 35) is 1 thing…but if you think Linderbaum is a 3rd round prospect you obviously haven’t watched him play. Or you have and your are Hellen Keller…either 1

Early second would make me consider a trade down [ if a solid guard could in addition be had]. But more important is the guard spot. We have a middling center but no guard

If all the teams have him as an early second, then that still has him going in the 20’s most likely because most nfl teams never have 32 first round grades. They typically have around 20 graded as first round picks.

I do think Linderbaum is going to be really good, and I wouldn’t panic with him at 24. Still, he could slip to the second, where he would be very good value, IMO.

agree .when and how do we replace Tyron? We been kicking that can down the road for 3 years. Would we dare take a Tackle early or in rd 2? I think we arent talking about this nearly enuff. Tyron was slow and getting beat the last half of the year.

He was stashed on injured reserve with the Ravens. Went undrafted. Cavanaugh said he was miles better then his second round teammate. He thought the Cowboys blew the Parsons pick. He was depressed for the rest of the broadcast. Although Helman seemed the most upset.:omg::omg: Cavanaugh is a good guy. Reminds me of some the guys on the board.

Ya I agree [TSmith] it seems to early to talk about Smith in the decline but here we are and in a total Oline rebuild

yeah he digs in on a player and there's just no rational debate . I admire the belief he has with his draftboard, but pet cats rarely work out well.

Thinka but that, dude went UNDRAFTED yet he would have picked him in rd 1 or 2 according to his own words. With Jeff, I have learned to tap the brakes and go watch tape and read the facts. See what other teams are saying.

The guy was 5’7 and Cavanaugh had him as his number 1 safety. That is why I am scared of Sky Moore. Linderbaum and Moore are his pet cats this draft.
