Is it just me or does the 2022 draft have no identity?

  • O-line is decent but nothing like 2020
  • There’s no star WR like Chase, not even a Ceedee Lamb
  • CB’s are pretty weak IMO, I have Sauce just behind only Horn and Surtain but still very good. Drops off from there.
  • I don’t even have a name to put up against Pitts as a TE
  • I don’t rate a single QB in this draft
  • There is no LB with tape even close to Micah Parson’s cotton bowl.
DE and box safety might be the only above average positions. Am I missing something or is this the most uninspiring draft you can remember? I’d feel robbed if we had a top 15 pick.

The meat is rounds two through four. Some nice players but not much star power.

It's a strong year for OL. There's 7 or 8 I'd take first round in any year.

DE is stupid loaded too.. there's 8 guys I'd start in Dallas on day 1.

This draft class actually looks pretty solid to me, there's just very little sizzle because the top 10 is atrocious and the talent is concentrated in the trenches.

I think the theme is DE and WR depth.

This is arguably the deepest DE class I can remember in the last 10 years.

Oline is pretty good really
Rushers are way deep
Weak DT
CB ?
Safety good
Weak QB
Can’t say about LB
WR is solid no super talent
It deep because there are some from 2021 that waited till this draft to apply
You can solidify your team with this class if you have some strong players already on your roster

I think it’s an all around strong draft but not top heavy with amazing players.

I agree.

I keep doing simulators and getting great players in late rounds.

I think we'll have a field day with those extra 5th round picks.

I got Jalen Woods in the 4th, although I know he likely won't last that long.

Each time I draft, no matter where I go, I end up loving my 2nd-5th round pick from a value standpoint. It's a very strong draft for linemen. And there are some good LBs in this class.. you just have to dig deeper to find them.

  • There is depth at OL.
  • WR Jameson Williams is a phenomenal player.
  • CB is similar to many years. The difference is that the draft media is not over-rating CBs this year.
  • How many years have had TE prospects like Pitts? Answer: Near zero.
  • Agree on this one. Lack of QBs at the top is different.
  • No LB in any year has 'tape' like Micah Parsons Cotton Bowl.
The Cowboys normally have about 16 to 18 players rated as 1st rounders.
- That's probably a smaller number this year. Maybe 12 to 15.

Rounds 2 & 3 appear much deeper than many years.

I dont think you have more than 1 guy from this draft in the top 20 NFL CB's 3 years from now, but you may have 6 in the top 40. I think after Gardner and Stingley , the next 5 should be borderline #1's but better suited to be #2's

Maybe not Pitts level but it’s rare to not even have a 2nd round graded TE. It’s not just Pitts, there’s Howard, Njoku, Hoekenson etc.

I really don’t think the 2nd round is deep either. The options at our 2nd round pick to me don’t seem like Diggs who apparently was in consideration 1st round for us when drafted.

And I agree there aren’t any LB’s like Parsons in the cotton bowl but we’ve had LB’s go top 10 the last 4 years that you can at least talk about. and IMO the these top 10’s were all stronger.

There are always a few fringe 1st rounders that’ll fall to the 2nd. I think we’ll have a good shot at another one this year it’ll just depend if we’d take that player over a higher need.

I see the OL class being really good, not top end great but extremely deep. I expect to see some mid round OL picks to start from this class at some point,
the WR is the second best group IMO, very deep.
The DE is third, strong group.
I like the LB class quite a bit. I think there are starters in mid rounds.
I think the RB group is a little underrated. No stars, but a lot of day 1 contributors.
TE, QB, DB class I see as being really bad, not sure if any of them will be studs. I even think Stingley may be iffy.
