This weeks offensive prospect is an interesting TE that has been linked to Dallas, Virginia's Jelani Woods.

Sell me on Jelani Woods

Best blocking/recieving combination TE in the draft.
Runs like a freight train in the open field.
Not going to fall to our 2nd round pick.

RAS score is 10 of 10.

Looked really good as a receiver in 2021 after a transferring to Virginia from Oklahoma State.

Was primarily a blocker at Oklahoma State for 3 seasons.

He signed with Oklahoma State as a QB then converted to TE.
- Maybe he just needed time to learn the position and more pass catching opportunities, but the 1-year wonder is making him available late 2nd or 3rd round.
- With 2 or 3 season like 2021, he would likely be the #1 TE in this draft due to the combination of size and athletic ability.

He emulates his game after Mercedes Lewis. A quality TE for many years. Strong blocker and does some things in the passing game

he wil fall to the 4th at least. he is atheltic, but limited in route running. his run blocking is more hustle than technique. he needs a couple of years of maturity. don't fall in love with the athletic numbers.

  • He’s ascending as a guy relatively new to the position.
  • He’s extremely tough to stop and a real RedZone threat
  • He’s a very good blocker with the length and attitude to be great
  • His athleticism is phenomenal for his height
I feel like once he gets a bit cleaner running routes and in particular tidies up his footwork he’ll be a unique weapon in the NFL.

honestly not really serious, just the first thing that pops into my head given all the attention Rico got on the board.
I just don’t want to use a high pick on a project player just bc they have a high SPARQ score. fine with the pick in the fourth but I’m sure someone will use a third or even a second on him.

Yeah, I don't even see him in the top 100 at the moment.

Well there is a massive difference between Woods and Gathers. Woods can actually come in and play. He isnt what you call a "project player"
