Potential Trade Candidates!

I'm a knucklehead?!!!

I mean seriously you throw a name calling at me because I said something that's absolutely a fact, that's true ,and Tolbert's position on this team is not even threatened right now ,

.I promise you that at this moment in time he's a lock for the active game day for the entire year as long as he's healthy... Facts

To try facts over hyperbole your opinions are just that some of y'all are not very good at personnel evaluations,

this man had better numbers last year than almost half of the free agents you guys wanted here like Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper he had better numbers than Brandon Cooks he literally had a better season or at least on par with Cooper kup and Debo Samuels, He was definitely better pick up and say Oh I don't know Washington bringing over Samuel's And Gallup... A lot of these players are in decline tolbert is young and he's not in decline he's on a cheap rookie contract and he's slowly been getting better every year...

those are all facts you don't see it now this fan goes from a potential number two to a much more comfortable number three he's going to be very valuable to this team regardless of how many reps he gets

Hard to understand that he's the new Noah Brown around here or Cedric Wilson maybe even slightly better he's getting better yearly it's a slow progress but it's better nonetheless... He's a lock at WR3 right now unless something happens with age or somebody just really blows up in camp and takes his job it definitely won't be mingo...
First allow me to apologize. My post was ambiguous. I was referring to Pickens who has a reputation for flying of the handle and being a problem.Honestly after some time and reading further he may be more stable then the first reports I read.

Just because he had some problems over in Pittsburgh which can be completely blown out of proportion a lot of **** hurt people don't like it when a player leaves and sometimes a lot of things are said.

Saying things were said about Terrell Owens I'll take 5 of him please the dude was athletically gifted he was a freak of nature he didn't drink he didn't get arrested he didn't do anything outside the football that would be considered a knucklehead but the dig was patching on the sideline so they called him team obliterator the dude took that and all the alleged talk about his drop passes all the way to top three in the history of the NFL with a yellow jacket to prove it..

Exactly right. The Cowboys aren't paying Pickens big money after this year, he's gone. One year rental. They are definitely hoping Mingo, or somebody from our WR group steps up this year and takes the #2 WR spot for 2026
It's not exactly right I know people around here didn't even think the Cowboys would make a trade for a guy like Pickens and they did trade for a guy like Amari Cooper but they did the fact is they've resigned Amari Cooper to a very high deal at the time but the very same reason they cut him is because CD Lamb overtook the number one spot and they didn't believe Amari Cooper was worth that money as the number two..

No he's not a one year rental per se,

that could that be the truth sure but both truths, if he's good enough that he earns another big contract if he's not asking for the world if he understands his value is as a number two wide receiver money which would be like Devante Smith Brandon Ayuk, DJ Moore those guys are making between 27 and $30 million if he doesn't make his demand so big,

I believe the Cowboys might sign him..

It is not a done deal but having the guy for a full year and possibly getting a comp pick back that equals what they Gave for him that's a win win..

But in no way shape or form is it in their minds a one year rental there's a lot of things in play here and we'll see how that works out but guaranteeing and saying things like exactly right that they're not going to sign him that there's like no chance that would be being naive if he fits in here well and he's realistic in the money demands he'd be a great addition to this team long term...

If Pickens does not have his usual production he’ll claim it’s due to the team having an established number one wide receiver. If he does have his usual production he’s going to want to be paid like a number one. Either way he’s going to go where he can make the most money.

Higgins is a WR2 at over $28 million AAV. Pickens seems like a guy who thinks he’s a number one NFL wide receiver, and he does not seem like he’ll be shy about saying $o.

Hey it pickens values himself that he has a right to but I'm telling you Higgins could be a starter on 16 teams he chose to stay for good money that's what I'm saying you want to be a winner and stay on a team you can help build and be able to do your thing without being double covered all the time I mean will allow him to decide on his own and I'm going to play a wait and see attitude that very well may happen he may overvalue himself...

Just because the man can put up 1000 yards in today's nfl that's nice that doesn't make you a true number one you could be a 1B and still only worth $28 million so it depends on where his head is at I realize he's not shy but we've seen the Cowboys almost have three 1000 yard receivers in one year I believe it was Lambs rookie year..

I understand why he believed that but that doesn't make it true we've seen other teams have 1000 yard back up I mean I didn't look at Devante Smith last year but I believe he did it he only makes 27 million you have to decide where you want to be so maybe he'll decide that and it might be the Cowboys and might be elsewhere but we give him for 17 games and we won't lose anything in my opinion you franchise tag him or you get a really high comp pick you could transition tag him you can make sure you get value anyway so I'm not too worried about it I wanted to have an insane season cause that means the Cowboys are probably in the 2nd round of the playoffs...

Potential trade candidates:

-Aren't part of the long-term future with the team
-Could land us additional day 3 picks
-Could use in a trade to land a position of need. Team may have excess at a position, where they need numbers at another.

Trade Candidates:

-Jalen Tolbert-he is not expected to be resigned in the offseason. Could lose the competition for the #3 WR.
-Bass/Robert Jones/Charles/Hoffman-they aren't going to keep 4 backup Guards. Hoffman can play G/C.
-Sam Williams-it is very possible he is buried down in the depth chart will all the numbers at the position
-Damone Clark-he is buried in the depth chart, where the new staff brought in 3 new linebackers
-Donovan Wilson-he might be a poor fit in this new cover 2 scheme.

What positions could the Cowboys still be hunting?

-DT, CB, RB, T
Nobody’s trading fur a bunch of jags…

I’m only saying regardless have how well he plays this season Pickens is going to require significant compensation to retain. He’ll be asking for more than the $25 million per season, $51 million guaranteed, Smith signed for. Smith’s three year deal doesn’t even start until the 2026 season. That’s what can be done when you get your players signed early.

The Bengals have a lot of money invested in a quarterback, albeit less than the Cowboys. They have a lot of money invested in their two wide receivers. They are struggling to get a deal done with their top defensive player. When Pickens wants a new deal the Cowboys will already have invested a lot of money in their top defensive player. There is a limit (salary cap).

I’m not worried about it. Just saying.
