So Aaron Rodgers lost to the same 49ers team that Dak lost too....so help me here using your logic Rodgers was the reason they couldn't beat the 49ers and Jimmy G is better than him because he beat him? Am I following you correctly?

Yeah Aaron choked big time in that game. He definitely played like an equivalent/inferior QB that weekend. Their roster is built around him carrying them to an extent. 10 points in a divisional round home game as the number 1 seed is not an acceptable outcome in that game.

If Aaron and Dak can’t be the difference makers in playoff games like that, what is the benefit of paying them 20-25% of the salary cap? Their pay is enormous because when things are close, they are the xfactor.

But Aaron has been only making his money in the regular season the last few years. That post-2010 stigma will follow him until he’s able to overcome whatever this block is he has. It’s not even losing close shootouts; 10 total points….

Would you take Jimmy G over A Rod?

No, because A-rod has proven to have done it before. He has precedence and reputation. 5 championship games, a super bowl ring. As Jimmy did too, this wasn’t his first rodeo. 4 playoff wins in the last 3 years. Joe Burrow is a great example of this. Before this year we had no expectations of him. But now, each playoff run, each season will be viewed within the lens that the man has 3 playoff wins already, and returning to the AFCCG would be old hat.

Does Dak have a backing list of credentials as well, or was what happened against SF just about on par with his postseason success this far? Was what he did against SF really surprising? 7 points through 3 quarters, then a bulk of passing yards toward the end of the fourth while he was down by multiple scores so the ending stats are a bit more favorable… just enough not to appear to be the main reason they lose. We’ve heard this story before.

Hmm…so you’re taking Jimmy G over Herbert or Watson?

Who would you rather have? It is a flat out no brainer for me...it's Jimmy G. For the life of me, I cannot understand why SF is in such a hurry to replace him. SF was one Eli Manning pop fly type throw and catch by KC in the Super Bowl from winning one himself....until that happened, they were toast. Is Jimmy G great? No. But he has more tools than Dak, who will NEVER sniff a Super Bowl. Does Dak have a no trade clause? If not, let's get something going....we are wasting our time by doing nothing.
Sigh.... disappointing thread. A few more sighs...

I miss football talk... the older posters will remember the 30 yard slant discussion. Lol.

Jimmy G has never attempted more than 476 passes in a season. Dak has pushed 600 passing attempts twice in his career because the Cowboys depend on him to win games. Jimmy G would have double the fumbles and INTs if he had to throw as much as Dak. Dak has had games with over 60 passing attempts. With the loss of two or top four receivers and the holes we have on the OL and not being supported by a great defense Jimmy G would have no chance with this team. Not wasting anymore time with this.

When you are down anywhere from 13-20 points per game at half time....(happens alot to us with Dak because we are LUCKY he puts up 6-10 points on the board in the 1st half)...then you wind up throwing alot in the 2nd half...and when you are still down those same 13-20 points going into the 4th quarter (because we did nothing on offense in the 3rd quarter) the opposing team lets up a little and you get to put up alot of garbage time stats.....Dak throws so much because he gets nothing done until the game is out of hand (usually by halftime) and he tries to play catch up in the 2nd half

I agree but they just spent a top 5 pick on a QB and you can't let that guy rot on the bench. I like their formula for winning with a stout defense and running game. Not sure why they mess with success. A lot of being a successful QB in this league is decision making with the football. You don't have to have a cannon for an arm to win.

I think this perfectly shows how ridiculous some Cowboy fans are towards Dak. The idea that someone thinks Jimmy G is better than Dak just screams agenda or lack of Football knowledge about QB play in the NFL and some notion that other QBs are out there not making any mistakes. Same goes for those who were trying to state Dak was a top 3 or 5 QB when he was rolling. It's like many people base their opinions only on emotion and not what they actually see. Dak is what he is. A good QB, not a great QB. Jimmy G is not a good QB at all.
