The Jones as owners - Thumbs Up (/\) or Thumbs Down (\/)

For me (\/)
AThumbs down. and here is why. as owners they dont' support the GM and over rule him everytime. as owners they maximize profits, which is the top priority, not winning championship and as a result having an organization that's centered around winning a championship.

no originality here, just regurgitating, copy & paste same old nonsense 24-7..its getting so bad doesn't matter what the content is its ending up on the front page.

I met Jerry a long time ago in TC once. He had some cool alligator shoes on his feet. That's the kindest thing I can think of to say!

Jerry Jones has been the owner since day one. Despite his own self-delusion, Jimmy Johnson was, at most, the de facto general manager, and, at least, co-general manager before the two parted ways. Back then, the worst thing some observers hung onto was how Jones axed Tom Landry like dirt.

The notable change since has been Jones allowing his narcissism take full control. He continues believing he is the greatest general manager the league has ever seen. His post-Johnson GM record proves otherwise for practically everyone except him and a handful of folks sharing his 23 chromosomes.

Jones gets an failing grade for not firing himself as general manager and hiring a qualified replacement two decades ago. Everything else about the franchise excluding coaches, players and gameplans? You know. What he does an NFL franchise owner. The grade is much higher. Probably higher now than the high grade he was receiving when he stood firmly inside Johnson's shadow. And that grade was pretty high when all anyone knew or cared about was him simply signing checks.

Thread questions like this will always be misconstrued because no one can take a chainsaw to Jones, split him into two, so some can finally see and say, "Well that half here is the owner and that half over there is the GM!" Some people see one guy and that is it. What he does as an owner opposed to what he does as general manager gets lumped together like Play-Doh. Jones COULD fix this perception problem by getting a grip on himself. Unfortunately, he is too full of himself to make such a logical decision.

As GMs theyre around the 16-20 range...draft excellent....put together good teams....contracts are an issue....and no championships in over 20 years

People are tired of the farce. Only reason people keep going to the games is to see the new stadium....and believe me.....it's not that great....and way over priced. Everything in that place is cheap quality. It's all a gimmick....and the newness of the stadium is about to wear off....then what are they going to peddle??? Because they sure can't build a team...

Actual reasons vary likely as much as each person's motivations. I go to AT&T Stadium for the same reason I go junior high/high school/college/pro stadiums, gyms, diamonds, courts, etc. I simply want to see what I want to see in person.

Not sure why going to games is so divisive. If people want to go, they should. If people do not want to go, they shouldn't.

Why do same interests fans fling mud at each other over personal sporting events' choice? I would think mudslinging would always be directed at OTHER teams' fans instead of each other. Sure. Jerry Jones is Satan (and morphs into The Devil during Sunday afternoons) and some people would rather squat in cow manure than pay for a $16 beer but the derision directed at other fans is unnecessary and out of place.
