Patriots and Texans trade late round picks

There is HUGE value in rd 3 this year

I’d happily trade my 4th and one 5th for a 3rd

a 4th and all 4 5th rounders get you pick 92 in the 3rd. Theoretically.

Don't try to use late round picks to try to move up in the first 3 rounds. Use them only in the later rounds to move up.

I would look to take advantage of that as much as I could. Downgrading a pick because it's a year later. I'd gladly collect that interest.
Its dumb valuation to me. A 3rd this year shouldn't be as valuable as a 2nd next year, because thats still going to be a 2nd round pick

I'm not sure you're getting anyone to give you their 2nd next year for a 3rd this year. Find me that dummy and we can trade every year. But future picks are valued less than current picks when trading up or trading for a player. Or if a team really likes a player in the 5th, and they don't have a 5th, I can see them giving up a 4th next year.

It usually happens when a team has say a 3rd round grade on a guy that falls to the 5th, they jump in offering a future 4 for said 5th round pick, they see it as a win because of how they graded the player.

Patriots must think there will be a lot of sliders that they want to clean up.

Yes. That's a very good example.

My guess is the Pats probably also don't see a difference in value between most Day 3 players.
right and the more picks you have the more players you get, and maybe better chance of hitting on 1 or 2

The Pats know that the 5th round will belong to us, and want no part of that

If anyone cares…
NE barely dropped down here to pickup the 7th
NEs 5th was late 5th
Houston’s 6th was near fop of 6th
