This is not a hate/love Dak thread.
This thread is about how do we improve our production at the QB position?
I am curious what concrete solutions other posters have on how we improve the position?
The only rule here is it has to be in the realm of possibility.
So, you can't just say: "cut Dak", it would have to fit the salary cap.
If you can cut Dak and make it work with the cap,
what other player would you bring in that would give us better numbers?

My take is that with the contract Dak has, he is gonna be here awhile.
My solution would be for Mac to redesign the offence into a more West Coast short passing game.
Dak seems to struggle with reading the field, so cut down on the options.

Also invest heavily in the oline with the draft and remaining free agent signings.
Having your center in your lap when you drop back to pass is difficult for any QB to overcome.

If possible go to a more run heavy offense.
We have 2 very good RB's, play to that strength.

I also would love to see Mac in control of the offense/playcalling and not Moore.
Mac's forte is offense and why is making the big bucks.
Let's take advantage of that as well.

Thoughts ?

Better play calling and fielding a NFL quality starting offensive line would be a start.

one step, throw. one step throw, take the thinking away from him. hand off, one step throw. can't throw, run the ball. that's his limit

seems like Bill Belichick didn't like Brady having his own coach either. ego maybe, wonder when Bill will start winning super bowls again?
I can understand why the coach would want to at least be there during the coaching sessions, so he knows what his QB does and doesn't do well, so he knows how best to draw up plays for him.

3 things......

1) Team discipline, every game they struggled penalties derailed any momentum.
2) Better run and pass game blocking. No QB can consistently win without a run game, they became too 1 dimensional in the 2nd half of the season.
3) Need to get Prescott some quicker route options encouraging him to get the ball out quicker and trust his receivers to make a play. There were times he held the ball too long waiting for more seperstion.

I have always been a fan of Dak ........but he needs to show it this year and play all year like he did in the first half of the season ........ and honestly if a steal of a QB falls in the draft in a later round they should get him for backup and competition.

Dak is UFA after 2024. He has a no tag clause.

Need to draft a QB soon.

Give Dak another 200 mill a season and he MIGHT play better. He admitted himself that he didn't play his best ball, is it because he wants a lot more money before he starts to give a crap about winning?

i think the ankle wasnt 100 percent.

he did not play well vs good teams.

Niners playoff game:

QB A: 254 yards passing, 2 TD's, 1 pick
QB B: 172 yards passing, 0 TDs, 1 pick

Which is the QB that imploded and which is the QB that didnt?
Which was the QB who walked off with a playoff win?

You can’t, outside of drafting talent. There’s a reason only 10 starting QBs in a league of 32 teams are considered very good to elite out of the entire population in the world. They are a rarity and you have to be lucky to hit on one of them. That’s under one percent of one percent of one percent. I didn’t do the math but that’s my guess.

A QB needs the physical tools, and there are plenty of them who have them, but ultimately it’s his head that determines how good he will be, i.e., reading the field quickly, choosing the right option, confidence, composure, etc.
