I think Penning is their trade up target

During the Senior Bowl week heard the Cowboys were extremely high on Penning. He fits the type of player they want to target this offseason. He would bring an attitude and a physical presence this team sorely lacks.
Penning makes the most sense. I think we have to get in front of the Saints and Chargers to get him. He fits what we hear the Cowboys want. He is big, tough, and mean. Voch has him low on his board and Broaddus says he was getting beat by a Kansas linebacker in the senior bowl. I would stay at 24.

I think it will be Jordan Davis thats who I have been thinking all along. Its what the defense is missing

Michael Lombardi thinks Davis is a top 5 player in the draft

I would hate it.
agree. There are always like 3 ^ 12 guys that fall and if we just stay at 24, we will land a nice player. Penning,Davis,Green, McDuffy would be my targets at 24. Im fine with any of them. We don't have to draft a wr at 24.

The two OT that have high grades that they brought in for 30 visits were Cross and Raimann so if they are going to move up, then my bet would be Cross. Many have him projected in the top 7 picks and most to Carolina. Carolina has two great needs, LT and QB. They have pick #6 and then nothing until Day 3.

There are all sort of voodoo as to where the QBs are going to go and apparently the Carolina owner wants a QB in Day 1. At 6, it is really far to high for a QB as this class of QBs would have been 2nd and 3rd even 4th round picks last year at best. All you have to do is what tape on any of them.

Supposedly, the cost of moving up this year is not anywhere near what the trade draft chart calls for it to be. What if Carolina and Dallas have worked out some type of deal where Dallas get #6 if Cross is there and Carolina gets #24, Tyron Smith, Connor McGovern, 2nd in 2023. At 24, Carolina could certainly get one of the QBs (Howell or Corral would be may guess) and the whole draft would be on its ear.

Would it be good for Dallas? Well Cross would start immediately at LT and LG still a problem but at least until the rest of the draft there is Alarcon and B. Smith. Just have to believe that Dallas may be more concerned with LT than LG. And at 56 say Tyler Smith is still there where many consider him more of a Larry Allen type pro which would be LG. For Dallas then it would be a win-win and for Carolina, it would appease the owner and at least put a band-aid for LT and OG and mostly getting a QB not named Sam Darnold.

Just a thought!

Trade up targets are London, Neal, Cross and Thibadeau IMO. I would hate trading up for Penning or Hamilton. If either of those two slide to 24 take them by all means. If any of the four I listed get past 10 trade up.

In the McShay mock with the trade up for Penning, no way I give up a 1st and 2 2nds and don't think it will cost that much.

This is what I have been saying, either Cross or Penning. And if either can be your plug and play LG and eventually take over LT, I have no issues giving up my 1 and 2 for them. Fixes a huge hole this year and franchise LT are not easy to find.

I think that's the idea. There are whispers the team feels Tyron's play is starting to decline.

I don't mind anyone so long as it's either trench....I suppose my ideal is trade back for Green and then up for Travis Jones.
Love Travis Jones, but he might even go in rd 1, if not within the top 10 in rd 2. Also, we could lose Green in a trade back.

I would stay at 24, but Penning is a good prospect. His profile to me, says Right Tackle and might struggle with speed rushers.
