He is 2nd on my list of 'Witten-ish' TEs (Otton was 1st).

Not going to win the combine, but knows how to play football.
- Good blocker. Gets open and reliable catching the ball.

I liked him better than Kolar because he'll be a better blocker.

Better blocker than Schultz.

I would still draft TE Michael Mayer next year if they have the opportunity.
- He would have been the 1st TE drafted this year if eligible.

He is very solid, traditional TE. I also see him as a better in-line blocker as Shultz.

Jake Ferguson: 6'5", 250 lbs, 4.73 40...

Very much a Jason Witten clone, great pass catcher/sticks mover, very good blocker as well.

Jake Ferguson is grandson to Wisconsin great ex-coach Barry Alvarez, so he's grown up being taught how to play football very well. Watch his lengthy film. Very productive...

Cowboys made a very good pick at TE in Jake Ferguson.

Cowboys possibly took him a round or two too early, but I assume they didn't want to chance to see him picked up by another team since other TEs were previously taken before the Cowboys picked late in the 4th round.

I'm confident in our WRs.

If I'm the Cowboys, I may consider drafting two TEs.

We only really have one.

We also need tackle help, though. And Rosenthal is still on the board.

He can play RT, and swing left if you need him to.

Ravens moved right in front of us and grabbed Kolar so we just took the next one on our list.

Nice post thank you for the highlight tab . A tight end who can stretch the chains what’s not to like .

Not a good blocker at all. Not a physical presence that will make a difference in the run game.

Also a young Jason Witten was 15 pounds heavier and a significantly better athlete.

If you want to compare Ferguson to 2019/2020 version of Jason Witten we can talk. Until then your comparisons of draft prospects to 1st ballot HOF’s is just stupid

CowboyRoy is busy drafting his post for when James Washington gets cut explaining “how can anybody expect Washington to beat out the three receivers in front of him?!?!?”
:muttley:

Poor Roy...he's a good guy and actually makes good points. I enjoy the back-and-forth y'all have with him.

Would have taken TE Isaiah Likely or OL Zach Tom.

Ferguson is okay, not a game changer on offense as receiver or blocker.

May never even be a starter.
