Mika Tafua is coming off an outstanding 2021 season where he posted 48 total tackles, 13 for a loss, and 9.5 sacks. Tafua's excellent season helped him claim him the Pac-12 Morris Trophy in addition to earning All-Conference honors. Tafua finished his Utah career with 130 tackles, 32 for a loss, and 17.5 sacks in four years.

Strengths

Tafua is a strong defensive lineman that can play the edge and some inside. He is quick and explodes off the ball, allowing him to get to his pass rush moves quickly. With a stellar arsenal of pass rush techniques, he uses cross chop and swim moves. In addition, the defensive lineman has shown the ability to rush the passer with his hand in the dirt and a two-point stance.

The former Utah defensive lineman has a high motor and does not quit on plays. Sometimes Tafua can drop in coverage, which shows in his nine total passes defended during his time at Utah.

Weaknesses

Tafua is strong but will need to add more muscle in order to succeed at the NFL level. In addition, he lacks the speed to bend corners off the edge. While Tafua has good pass rush moves, he will need to add some corner moves if his initial technique doesn't work. Occasionally Tafua will take to wide angles when pursuing runners.

Outlook

Tafua will most likely be drafted in the third or fourth round. He could be a strong-side defensive end in a 4-3 scheme. Also, Tafua could add more muscle and be an outstanding 3-4 five-technique. With Tafua's high motor and willingness to work hard, he could develop into an exceptional NFL defensive lineman. With the right team and coaching staff, Tafua could have a chance to be a contributor early on.

"Drumm" was a first-team NJCAA All-American in 2018 (58-857-14.8, 11 TDs) and helped East Mississippi Community College win two national titles (he had 10 TD receptions in 2017) while he was there. The second-team All-Mississippi selection as a senior at Laurel High School decided to stay in-state when moving to the FBS, playing in all 12 games with nine starts for the Rebels in 2019 (13-188-14.5). Drummond started nine of 10 games in 2020, catching 25 passes for 417 yards (16.7 per rec.) and seven scores. He formed a strong rapport with star quarterback Matt Corral in 2021, leading the Rebels with 76 receptions, 1,028 receiving yards (13.5 per catch) and eight touchdowns in 12 starts. Every year it amazes me how many good football players there are. Even all these undrafted guys had decorated college careers. Most of them just like the late round picks will never make an NFL team and will be forgotten about come next draft. It is sort of impressive and sad. Impressive on how many good players are out there. Depressing that most of these guys have played football their whole life and literary dedicated their life to it and at 23 or so years old it is over, for the most part.

The positive is though, it provided most of these kids in unfortunate situations a pathway to education. It allowed these kids a degree and a better life and career.

It’s sad, but it led them to a better life and brighter future

no reason to think otherwise guys like Wilson (i know 6th rounder but fans here dismiss all of our 3rd day picks act as if the 1-3 rounds are the only rounds to find talent), turner, miles austin, Romo, cole beasly, and others have overcame the lack of being drafted to be very good players..
 
It's fun to be optimistic about these guys, but remember some wont even get a real opportunity.

Even a guy like Kamara last year, with all the press and hype....and every opportunity, made the team but barely dressed...if at all, and we couldn't hang on to him anyway.

These guys are major lottery tickets....not the scratch off type.

The kicker is different. I expect him to win the job.

I think Hansford will turn some heads in camp and they will have to end up sweating hanging on to him.

Those two aside, Id give Malik Davis the best shot to make the 53. I like him as RB3 who has a chance to become part of a duo not named Pollard or Elliott for 2023.
