I would not pay WR's big money

Under the current system that’s all teams can do is suffer elsewhere if you pay these players. The QB and WR are critical positions. Cincinnati would’ve never sniffed the Super Bowl this past season without Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase.

Yes. This is what you get with the salary cap. It's going to be really hard for teams to win super bowls paying a QB 50M a year and a WR 30M a year. It will continue to be teams with QBs on rookie or low paid deals that win SBs. Do you think Tom Brady doesn't know that? His cap hit for this upcoming season is 11.8M.

If CeeDee Lamb plays well this season he needs to be traded for a 1st rounder. The Cowboys don't have the QB, nor do they have the team talent to overcomes ridiculous cap hits from 2 players who aren't even elite status.

You have fans here that don’t want to pay QBs or WRs big money. Good luck building a championship football team without paying those players. Lol

Those aren't going to be the teams that win championships. The teams that win championships will have players on rookie deals or paid much less.

Wide Receivers are becoming like RB's: tons of them come out every year and you can get good ones in the 3rd and 4th round. And unlike 10 years ago, they produce right away, like RB's.

The Packers and Chiefs have figured this out, which is why they got rid of Adams and Hill. It will be interesting to see if the Eagles will come to regret paying Brown.

Unless you get a guy like Chase, I would not be signing WR's to massive deals. That includes Cee Dee Lamb.

Just my opinion

You make some great points. I do think KC should have found a way to keep Hill though. Hill is a special player.

Typical double standard stuff.

What double standard? Teams with players on rookie deals and low paid QBs are going to SBs. Yet everyone wants to pay these guys a ton. Just look at the last few super bowls and who played. Cinci are all on rookie deals. Stafford wasn't a big cap hit. Same goes for the previous year with Mahomes and Brady. Same goes for the previous year to that. On and on it goes. The teams with great players being paid less or on rookie deals are going to continue to win championships.

The other part of this that cannot be left out of the equation is the type QB the team has. Is he like Brady, Mahomes, Rodgers or Allen? Hell, Brady and Rodgers made WR1's. So did Brees.

The real question is how will Prescott do without Cooper? He was already targeting Lamb and Schultz as much.

The Mahomes-Hill is the most interesting one. They changed defenses because of Hill's speed and that helped slow that offense down. But Mahomes still has that deadly strong arm, just like Brady and Rodgers.

The Cowboys are in good shape at wr. Lamb is motivated to have a big year. If they have contract problems with Lamb, they can trade him or let him sign with another team and draft a receiver.

It will continue to be teams with QBs on rookie or low pay deals that win SBs? How many teams can you come up with that have won Super Bowls with QBs on their rookie deal? Patrick Mahomes is the only one I can think of. Joe Burrow reached the Super Bowl this past season on his rookie deal but that’s very rare. Matt Stafford won the Super Bowl on a reasonable deal but he wanted out of Detroit and he wanted to win a championship. He’s now making $40 million per. Good luck winning a championship these days with a QB playing on their rookie deal or a low paid veteran QB.

QB salaries keep going up you’re not going to win a championship these days with a low paid QB or low paid players at other key positions. If you have any postseason success with these players they’re going to want to be paid. Tennessee was having some postseason success with AJ Brown and he wanted to be paid.

Sorry but we drafted Lamb so we will have him re set the market even though there's going to be the normal drama that comes with making a big signing. He will make 40+ million

I kind of agree for the most part. But the Eagles have nothing to regret as they're not paying a QB big money. Zero chance Jalen Hurts gets paid QB market value. It's not even debatable. And any new QB will be on a rookie deal while AJ Brown is being paid big money. AJ's big cap hits don't start until 2024.

Market value these days are about 30-50 million, he's not taking 29

Facts are you need a legit WR, but you don't need to pay big bucks for one if your QB is actually good.

Didn’t Adams himself say that GB offered him the same $, but he chose to go to LV with Carr?

Both GB and KC tried to sign those players. Let’s not make the narrative that good teams refuse to pay WR’s to try and validate the Cowboys cheapness.

Also this board continues to think any/all contracts signed are overpays. And then 2 years go by, the cap goes up, and suddenly those “overpaid” guys that everyone said will ruin a team are getting paid fair market value and taking up relatively the same % of cap space as before…i

Good point...

I left out Joe Montana he won a Super Bowl on his rookie deal. Some fans on this board have claimed they aren’t paying a QB unless they win a Super Bowl on their rookie deal. These fans won’t have a QB. Dak and Josh Allen would be playing somewhere else if it was up to some fans on this board.

I believe Aaron Rodgers was on his rookie deal when he won. But I stand to be corrected on that one
