The OL seems to be getting some depth these last few drafts plus the UDFA centers brought in to compete this year ….I hope the plan is to keep Tyler Smith at G the entire yr let him cement that job inside .

KM doesn’t seem to see the need for a third back back much .

why would he he barely uses pollard the #2 it would be a wasted spot..

if you run more those carries go to zeke and pollard. Pollard needs more touches not a #3 im going to have to agree.

we dont need a 3rd RB UNLESS he was drafted this year as RB1 of the future and you work him into the mix..
now out of 32 teams name me how many uses their 3rd RB for significant snaps, AT RB not receiving Traget, and productive snaps as a RB??? i mean this place is bipolar if its not running league and its passing league how would you use a 3rd RB??

how many times did the 90s cowboys use a #2 or a third and that was a running era? name me the 3rd on our 70s teams? what was his touch count??

id say they need to use FB more when they want to run hard especially up the middle like KM sems to likes, you use zeke with a FB..a real FB not McGovern or Steele that's played our. Makes the play obvious

you get my point a 3rd rb who get any quality touches is rare and seldom used but the Cowboys should do it became you say so? what are your NFL credentials. please post that resume.:muttley::laugh:

So they drafted Tyler Smith and the plan looks to be he’ll backup LT and start at LG. They also got Matt Waletzko who looks to be only a OT because he’s like 6 foot 7.

The team didn’t draft a RB, but they signed two UDFAs and just cut a FB. Zeke has the knee injury from last year, which I don’t know if that gets better. Also Pollard had the foot ligament tear that also scares me, but I think he recovers. My thoughts are they need a third RB. So does that mean the running game is on the back of UDFAs or is Zeke heathy again. I don’t know if Pollard can go 17 games with 20 carries. Then you have 3 more playoff games where you really want to have the best RB getting 25 carries a game. So the 3rd RB is pretty important with the longer season.

What’s the plan? Just go as long as the can with Zeke, Pollard, 3rd RB? Also what about Tyler it seams he’s a better fit at LG. Why wouldn’t they have Waletzko as the backup or swing OT?
abandon it as quickly as possible if it doesn't seem to work, go to WR screens about 10 times a game.

Injuries tend to be an actual fact to why this happens..its not bragging, its facts,

that despite all the injures and issues with the OL etc etc thats a respectable number. Sure it needs to be improvement but with our healthy complete backfield and an OL on their game we were great and 7-1 last year..it got derailed for many actual reasons. Those stats show when healthy this coming season we should get back on track..

anything else you need help with , let me know..i can post pictures if its easier for you to comprehend...
Ah...so that's where we are eh? Childish insults? Do you feel better about yourself? Superior?

regardless of legitimate reasons....(there are)... I think having an average running game is disappointing for a Dallas Cowboys team.

Yes..injuries of course. But we NEVER adjusted...we just kept plodding along and trotting out injured players with a boring predictable run scheme. Are there deep technical "reasons" for THAT? I dunno. Why couldn't we employ a RB who literally won a Super Bowl?

As you so maturely pointed out, I am not such an expert in-the-know like yourself.

so 2020 had 11 different OL groups in 16 games ,many injuries all over ..the OL was decimated

last year had suspensions and issues with some injuries etc had to consonantly shuffle groups around. Hard to judge guy but hey call out a coach as if you are an NFL exec and know who should have jobs and who doesn't..you got that on copy and paste to make easier on you to post..

nah original reply applies..why why why..lol keep asking yourself...

show me the RB the last 5 years that "Literally won a SB"
that the opposite of the new league, did i miss the switch that now a RB is the key to SB victory, pretty sure its starts at QB , then OL, then DL, then DE, then WR, then DBs ok now lets talk RBs..we carried 2 good ones and some backups, 3 of which got hurt they shuffled the OL and tried to cover up the issues and it didn't work..and? again a 3rd RB is not the answer..

the best RB in the league who had the best season last year what was he doing last year?? hint hes on the colts team, howd that work out? Has derrick henry played in a Superbowl? best running teams in the league Titans, Ravens, and colts come to mind first, how many SBs have they been too recently?

You can state "facts"... and not be such a #^@* about it.

Although from a lot of it looks like opinion. Rushing attempts is a stat...what you do with it is opinion

LO....you just come here for fights and arguments.

Clement did, in fact...LITERALLY won a super Bowl. Is that a little redundant? Sure. Does it need a special objection? Not unless you are a #%&.

I gave him special mention...I remembered the "Philly Special" play. But in all your BS....my point is lost. We had some good RB's...one with Super Bolw experience...we never employed. We never adjusted from these precious injuries you keep harping on about. Which I agree...hampers the run game. But we never made any move but pass 55 times. Then also say "zeke sucks".

It's apparent you have a very difficult time separating your OPINION on things...form that which are true indisputable FACTS.

That play is supplementary to your running game. Run too often it reeks of desperation and that your running game is not working and thus it loses effectiveness. We saw it happen too many times. Add to it we tip our hand with our formations and it's even worse

Yet everyone in the league run the play and when executed produces.

Sony Michel, literally scored the only TD in super bowl LII 2018. I’m still ticked off I didn’t win my bet for him winning mvp. Instead they gave it to Edelman based off his past contribution to the team, cough cough.

as I mentioned, if used as a supplement/strategy to the running game that works, not as a fall back when it doesn't, which is what we did in order to open up the running game. that strategy doesn't work and didn't work.

The plan is to have a body who can run through open holes the line makes for them.

It is the year 2022 and people are still worried about RBs.

Have to have some open holes.
We had plays with dak tripping over center's feet while handing off to zeke. Yes...tony did have the same results as zeke on these plays.
Apparently, #3 and #4 faired no better didnt see the light of day.
Fix the o line and game plan scheme...our backs are fine. Dont....and it wont matter.

When McCarthy had Philbin in GB they were never a running team. The Cowboys have never been the same running since Callahan was let go.
