Vikings beat Christopher Columbus. Just another piece of evidence.
Starting in the 10th century, for 4 centuries, the Norse regularly sailed back and forth and settled Greenland.
An old church left on Greenland from the Vikings. Archaeologists still debate why the Vikings left in the 14th century.
My advice to them - don't overthink this - even with today's technology it's hard to live on Greenland.

The Vikings even took one or more Native American women with them when they returned home. They have found Native American DNA in a few people in the Nordic countries and those people have families that have never left the Nordic countries for centuries.
