Gallimore had a freak injury in the preseason. Before that, he looked poised for a breakout season and did play well with a gimpy arm to close out the season. Hill has made a few plays here and there but for the most part has not been good. Not seeing the comparison. I think he takes the next step and locks down his role on that line.

Hill also miss a good number of regular season games and much of the season because he was still slow to recover from that ACL tear.
Injury situations was a big set back for both Gallimore and Hill.

No doubt, Gallimore is still developing. As you said, probably more of a 3T then a 1T despite his size, where his strengths lie within the pass rush, not in the run game. Osa was more of a NT at UCLA and he is still learning a new position. Positive early results, but really fell off. He is the better run defender and should be playing on the early downs with Watkins. Make or break time for Hill, either he takes the next step or he plays somewhere else next yr. Has to find more consistency.

Hill spent much of the season out or, trying to fully recover and return to the previous form off a slow to recovery ACL injury.
I believe he's only been in 5 or 6 games in the entire '21 season - and that was 2nd half.

Basically his whole year in '21, was much about his ACL injury/recovery and getting adjusted to Quinn's scheme and system.

i don't see how we can give him a fair assessment off just 6 games played , only 2nd half
while still recovery from a serious ACL injury.

..if you aren't that good, how can you make a mark? On other hand, if you are very possible you get credential noise.

We know there is going to be a numbers crunch this yr, where he maybe fighting to keep his roster spot. Must have a strong camp to beat out a player like Basham.

I think the 3-4 front is where we are headed. We are slowly getting the personnel to run it. Sure, we will have many looks, but that front is the best to stop the run.

The way I see it too. Started in the 2021 draft at least.

Quinn is adding many players who can play in either.

How many DTs are we likely to keep? :
1 Osa
2 Gallimore
3 Watkins
4 Hill
5 Ridgeway

How many DE's we keep ?
6 Dlaw
7 Williams
8 Armstrong
9 Golston
10 Fowler

Out: Bohanna, Basham ?

The only reason I would keep Fowler is if we used heavy doses of NASCAR on 3rd down:

Parsons Dlaw Fowler Williams

Cannot see the team keeping 3 1 Tech's. Do they go with the prospects or Watkins and one of them? Hill/Basham might be fighting out for the last spot.

I expect Odighizuwa to make a jump in year two. IMO he’s the best 3T on the team.
I have no doubt of that
He was really good early in the season coming off a college career he played very few games
Yet his season stats were pretty solid

To me hill hasn’t shown enough to warrant a roster spot. I’d do him a favor and let him start over somewhere else and hope it helps him
I think his future is kinda Taco like

- Likely go with two 1 techs, and then a flexible DT that can play both 3 tech/1 tech in a tight, injury pinch situation.
Which is another reason why I'm not ruling out Hill, as many want him gone already.

- And BTW, Ridgeway is gonna have to play and prove he belongs on a 53 roster, and not a practice squad.
Not just handed a 53 roster spot by default.

- Bohanna is gonna have to be unblockable impressive in his 2nd summer, else he could more designated for Practice Squad than 53 roster.
It gets very interesting if Hill, Ridgeway and Bohanna prove quite impressive, even with vet Watkins still here.

Think they could sneak Bohanna on the ps more then Ridgeway and Hill

Bohanna and Ridgeway are more NTs than 1Ts. I don't see both of them on the roster week 1. If we had a quality 3T, Gallimore would be my 3T/1T.

My mind uses logic and substance not rainbows and sunshine. You are just praying and hoping guys breakout and you have no basis for it. Was you training with them in the offseason and saw them working?

For me it's 100% sunshine, no rainbows. All I got is seeing Osa flash a little last season. I'm just crossing my fingers in hope for him and the rookie. I really don't expect much from the others.
