No, he would have take Malik Turner's spot last year. That's why Turner wasn't re-signed.
Turner would've taken browns spot if he was better with special teams. Basically I'm saying Noah brown is a terrible receiver. I've been saying it since people argued with me that he was better than Cedric Wilson when Wilson was a rookie. (Yes I think injured rookie Wilson was better)

They love Brown. Turner was the guy they wanted to upgrade from.

If he has been staying in Dallas then that means he is working at the facility and with Prescott 5 days a week since February. Fish aside, that is a good thing. Chemistry matters and this is what gives guys an edge in the second year.

He also isn't making minimum money any longer. Noah better come to play in camp.

True but they pay him to be on ST and block. I mean really you know it's a run when he's on the field offensively 9/10 times. He ain't winning any receiving competitions that's for sure.

So three WR's that potentially make the team are inexperienced. Tolbert, Fehoko and Vasher combined for 0 catches for 0 yards and 0 TD's last season.

We want the game #1 starters to be at least one of these guys before Gallup comes back. If the WR squad continue to get nicked up this season ,then at least one of these guys are going to get a real chance to jumpstart their careers. I hope they will be ready.

Remember Jordy Nelson......MM loves developing underdog receivers

Simi Fehoko: Dak Prescott's New Dallas Cowboys Starting WR?
Fehoko says he's spent a great deal of offseason time in DFW, all the better to get to know, and work with, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott.

Breakout year is very unlikely. I hope I am wrong, but this report is more chumming by Fish.

I think they are grooming him for the same role, which suggests they may want to move on from Brown.

you do realize that's a given for role players from all position's way down on depth charts, they PLAY STs..if you cant those 12 receptions by turner don't mean much. Browns ability to play the 5th wr spot and block and play Sts makes him valuable, thats why turners gone. we can most likely get that from Semi/Vasher or an UDFA 12 receptions is hardly irreplaceable. Browns contributions while they seem unimportant are very important from wrs, rbs, lbs and oL perform these tasks and are necessary to build out a roster.

just because you dont think Browns a good wr doesn't make it true hes good enough to be the 5th WR and that's his role..its why he keeps making the team.

what we need most is not a starting wr we have that covered we need to find a Punt returner and that same player add in some receptions like turner. Maybe Semis that guy hes big, fast, and im betting with full offseason maybe he can pick up the PR game. That would be great. add in 12 receptions and few tds sure thats a bonus.

Yeah, I think it's pretty obvious Brown is a front office/coach's fav. They could have easily moved on from him but chose to being him back. But don't be surprised if this kid ends up getting more targets.
I think he was brought back because he’s very versatile. Solid ST player and decent receiving
The guys at the bottom of the depth chart must be able to contribute on ST
To push brown off the roster, someone has to replace what he does. Then he will be gone

there no reason to think Semi cant make a leap , Miles Austin did nothing his first 2 seasons, started to flash his 3rd season and all of sudden had breakout season in year 4 and followed it up with another starter lie production in year 5..had solid career for no name WR that had zero expectations..

people think his draft status and the fact he didn't really play his rookie year somehow makes him a lost cause.um not...

We'll all know if he's a potential miles Austin 2.0 if he starts pulling hammys.....should start happening after his first big contract

injuries cant be controlled, so that statement is moot,..

MA had some great seasons when not having hams blow..Im just saying fans are not patient they want instant sucess or they write off players. MA was an example of player who slowly came along and then had nice career. averaged nearly 15 YPC over 8 seasons. When he played all 16 he had over 1k..
