Will broke down Tyron Smith retire before season starts?

I get the same vibe that I did about 2016 Tony Romo. A player that can still play and would be the so-called better left tackle talent-wise for the season. But I don't see the Cowboys rolling the dice on Tyron staying healthy. In fact, I bet he ends up becoming the highest paid swing tackle this season.

I think smart thing would be to look at schedule, and just play tyron in games where the defense will have a good player on his side.
Then hopefully he would be ready for playoff games if he only played in say 5-6 games during season.
Jones will wear him out playing mediocre teams they should be able to handle without smith.

You almost wonder if at some point in time they should dock a gamecheck to those who seem to only play 75 percent of the games, year in and year out. Not talking Tyron, but any of them that only end up playing a portion of the season. Not talking about those who blow out a knee etc, but rather those who seem to always have a nagging injury and the team shuts them down every few weeks.

I think Tyron should be thinking about his future and living as pain free as possible. The football injuries will catch up to him later in life and it wont be fun.

I think it’s time for Tyron to retire and let the rookies Tyler Smith & Matt Waletzko take many reps as possible at LT.

No, I don't think Tyron Smith will be retiring before this season starts. I think he might have one or two seasons left in him. However, I do think after this season, we need to take another tackle on the draft. Matt and Ball will probably be the fill in LTs when Tyron goes on hiatus. Tyler Smith is, in my view, better suited at LG, where our only other real option is Connor McGovern. So, he should not be moved unless there are no other options imo. Now, if Tyron were, in the highly unlikely event, to retire before the season starts, one of two things will probably happen. 1. Jerry will panic and make a trade for a LT or 2. Josh Ball or Matt will be the starting LT.

As far as traded tackles, I'd like to see us trade for Jake Curhan T from the Seattle Seahawks https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jake_Curhan. He was undrafted in 2021, but looks like he did well in his first start. I think we could probably get him for a 4th or 5th round pick (which we will undoubtedly have an extra of with comp picks, and he'd give us a bit more depth at LT. Additionally, he apparently, from reading the wikipedia page, only gave up one pressure out of 28 pass attempts in the preseason last year. Also in his first start, he apparently wasn't flagged. So, it seems to me he's got something that we could use. Also, the Seahawks likely aren't going anywhere this season. So, might be a good idea to trade for him from Seattle.

so, you’re calling out Tyron smith? He just plays for the money?
Well your putting words in my mouth?
What I was inferring is , if he plays 6 games and is out 11, he gets paid for all 17.... gravy train!

I rather move Tyler Smith to LT and start Issac Alarcon at LG. Keep Matt and Ball as the swing tackles!

I'm not certain that Alarcon makes the team, and he'd be depth probably this season if he does. I think the right answer is still to keep Tyler at LG. Maybe Alarcon proves me wrong, which would be great. But I think Smith at guard is still the better move.

As usual, you don't know what you are talking about. You are just talking out of your butt.

I'm aware of his injury history, but the guy gets a tight back in May and we're writing his retirement papers.

If there was a game Sunday he'd be playing in it.
