OTA Shorts: Sounds as if Tyron Smith, who missed the OTA workout open to the media last week with back tightness, should be able to go in Thursday's session open to the media … Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy was hopeful last week that third-round pick Jalen Tolbert would be able to do some work in Thursday's workout, and it appears veteran wideout James Washington is about ready to come out of his boot (sore foot tendon) and will be able to at least do some on-field rehab … Sure hoping to see Garibay do some kicking in Thursday's workout

Thanks for posting this. Hopefully it ends all the panic.
That has nothing to do with anything. We have a rookie in a walking boot. Does that mean we write him off? No! But that's what you are doing to Tyron Smith just because he got held out of one practice. Practice! Not a game, Practice! Excuse me while I ignore you, fool! When was the last time Tyron Smith played a full season?
Facts > Opinion in this scenario.
He still has a few 4-wheeler payments to make for his 3rd cousin.
Why should he, he starts threads that are very successful and inspires pages pf pointless conjecture.I thought this troll said he was leaving the forum.
I am all for Smith retiring but not necessarily due to him possibly suffering later in life. That already is cast in flesh and bone with the pounding and slew of injuries he already has accumulated, particularly back, knees and shoulders.Hope he knows when enough is enough. I would hate to see him suffering later in life as a result. I don't see why he would retire because he is use to sitting out games and still collecting a check.
Time will tell.
I think it’s time for Tyron to retire and let the rookies Tyler Smith & Matt Waletzko take many reps as possible at LT.
agreed but, to what extent does he add to the damage?I am all for Smith retiring but not necessarily due to him possibly suffering later in life. That already is cast in flesh and bone with the pounding and slew of injuries he already has accumulated, particularly back, knees and shoulders.
Say it to his face
In all honesty I have been wanting Dallas to trade him when he was worth something. The Patriots would of gotten rid of him 5 years ago. He is worse than Zeke when it comes to value.
I'm not one to pretend Smith isn't an absolute injury waiting to happen and fully expect him to miss games this year, but what a moronic statement. I'm assuming a troll looking for shock value? This team with Tyron is much better than without and even worse you think two rookies who have never even put on pads in the NFL should be the solution?
For what it's worth, PFF had Tyron rated the #2 tackle in the NFL last season. That's all-pro level. Then we’re seeing it differently because I don’t see him playing at an “All Pro” level anymore. When he’s healthy, which is not very often he’s still a very good player but not what he was.
Problem with that is if one of these back ups is Chaz Green 2.0 and gets Dak murdered by a "mediocre" DE. Then what do you do? You don't healthy scratch an all-pro player in the hopes of saving him for the playoffs because his back ups might end up being the reason you don't make it that far.I think smart thing would be to look at schedule, and just play tyron in games where the defense will have a good player on his side.
Then hopefully he would be ready for playoff games if he only played in say 5-6 games during season.
Jones will wear him out playing mediocre teams they should be able to handle without smith.

well that wouldnt happen, and tyron would be at each game, and if the guy cant handle the situation like that game with chaz, you pull him and put tyronProblem with that is if one of these back ups is Chaz Green 2.0 and gets Dak murdered by a "mediocre" DE. all it takes is one "look out" block by a back up tackle to end Dak's season. Why take that chance by sitting a healthy Tyron just to try and save him for the playoffs? That would go over really well.well that wouldnt happen, and tyron would be at each game, and if the guy cant handle the situation like that game with chaz, you pull him and put tyron
in.
We need him for 1 more year. If he retires now this season will be an absolute disaster
