Which is sad. I'd love to see him stay here at around 8 mi/season. Good, hard nosed player. But, if it's true he wants elite money, time to move on. Bellychickens him.
We had another guy who wore 84 that I would pay money for to stay

Wasn’t Schultz a decent blocker his first couple years? Dude made so many business decisions last year.

Yup. Everybody should be top 5 and up in most cats for the position.
It's easy.
You are conveniently forgetting how good LaFleur was!!!! Just stepped right in and caught a hundred passes, no problem!!!

11 mil guarantee an average te and he's complaining, cool
Well, he's seen his slightly above average QB get a nice bag [4 yrs./$160 million {$126 million in guarantees} $66 million signing bonus]. Might as well strike while the iron is HOT.

Not to change the subject but.. what really worries me is if and when Diggs, Lamb, and god forbid Parsons, decide that they are under-paid and would like to renegotiate their contracts sooner rather than later.. I'm aware that the NFL has new deals with various TV Networks totaling $105 billion., due to take effect in 2023. The billion dollar question is when does the salary cap expand?? and how much will the increase be?? Lord knows we need all the help we can get in order to keep all 3 players Long Term. The [Jones gang] learned the hard way, there is no such thing as a home town discount.

If he is so easily replaceable why was he having a season so much better than everyone else? He was 3rd in receptions (to Kelce and Andrews), 4th in yards (to Andrews, Kelce, and Kittle) and he caught over 70% of targets averaging over 10 yards a catch (aka a first down with every catch). The only knock on him is blocking and nobody really cares about whether your TE can block that much. It is nice and it is great if he can but the highest paid TEs are great pass catchers. Yes Kittle can do both but in general your best blocking TEs are making 5m per year (such as Boyle for the Ravens) and your best receiving TEs like Kelce and Andrews are making over 14m. That is just how it is.[/QUOTE

Yeah, just look at the stats, don't watch the games.

Schultz needs to get his fanny in camp to improve his blocking skills.
He's permitting his emotions to thwart his progress.

A huge raise demands the work to deserve it.

Yes dont look at any way you, or any NFL expert, would measure production, instead lets basically use how it feels like it is because that is how you evaluate content you use your gut and throw the actual results away.

The point of tagging him was you list cooper and Wilson, you also had no one ready to step up and replace him
It’s a one time cost that had no effect on being able to sign other players at all

thats exactly my point. I wouldn’t have lost cooper to begin with.

Schultsy may be skipping his way out of Dallas... Nice comp pick coming our way for a marginal player.

Generational changing money for us common folks for one year of play. Get on the field, and shut up. He is a bit above average, but not special.
If you factor in his blocking then he's probably closer to the below average side overall.

If I have learned anything from this thread it is this:

A good portion of you will overrate everyone and anyone that has a star on their helmet.

Need to get rid of the dam salary cap crap. Let Jethro spend some money. Will this ever happen again?

If that happened then you guys would see just how much Jerry actually doesn't care about winning.

He says he would write any check if it would guarantee a Super Bowl, but he says this knowing there's a fixed amount on how much he can actually spend. His empty words are protected by salary cap limitations.

I don't believe this team would spend much more money at all if there was no salary cap.
