Who'll it be men, who will make the 5-6 WR roster spots?

Vasher is probably the best red zone WR we have on the roster.
He might not offer a whole lot outside that but he is very like Antoine Wesley of the Cards.
And he is dirt cheap whereas long-time vet prices rise quickly.

My gut says they'd keep Vasher and his upside and low salary over Brown and his known skillset and higher price.
It's only 325K or so difference but Vasher doesn't even count against your cap at all at this point because he falls below the rule of 51 highest contracts.

Well done.
I am solid on Vasher!

I think we go 6 with Gallup hurt.

1. Ceedee
2. Gallup
3. Washington
4. Tolbert
5. Brown
6. Vasher

Fehoko will be cut imo

In general this is true but it is not always the case.
Teams absolutely keep guys as depth players with eyes on larger roles in the future.
You are going to sit guys weekly anyway as you mention.
It can be much easier to PS a ST guy and bring him up then it is a guy with starter potential.

All that said if you were a late round pick or UDFA you probably need ST roles to stick unless you are a QB or DL.
Sure
Every roster has a few guys who look like they can develop and you keep them around
But on this roster it’s not gonna be a WR I don’t think
I think it will be on the oline or dline where we have someone we basically stash. You will also have a few stashed on IR with a sprained ankle all year lol

Cowboys will keep 6 WRs:

Lamb
Gallup
Tolbert
Washington
Brown
Vasher

Fehoko will be listed as a TE.

If Washington doesn't prove his worth during training camp and preseason, he will be cut and replaced by Fehoko. I don't believe the Cowboys will risk losing TJ Vasher since he's too good of a playmaker, especially in the red zone.

Sounds reasonable.

It’s really one spot that a few guys will be fighting over and it should be interesting
The advantage Vasher has is he’s different than the rest of the guys
But it’s what they do not what traits they have that’s gonna give the edge needed to get that 6th spot
And I think the first 5 are set

I kinda think the same. Last reports I saw Vasher has been throwing down highlights. Of course this happens every offseason and almost never carries over into the regular season. Nonetheless it's a good sign for him.

We likely will go 6 but one of those won’t be around once Gallup comes back
He won’t count on the roster till he’s ready to play

Youre assuming everyone here is a man, that's not very inclusive, I'm telling Brandon.

actually, they may carry 7 into the first month given Gallups out and the 1-2 extras once Gallups back with be on the PS so all of these will make it no need to cut anyone..some others have been making plays in OTAS

so 5-8 is wide open and yes even Brown regardless of his ST expertise could get cut. one of the young guns will make it as Punt and KO returners. If they show good at that they make it over just a WR who just wr depth,

Lmab and even pollard may not be used much as returners so its important we find a WR that can do both who arent starters..not sure if Washington can do this but we shall see.

I haven't done the 53 man roster math, but teams usually don't carry more than 6 receivers. 1 of those 3 will take that last spot, and the Cowboys will try to stash probably one more on their practice squad.

We could go 7. Brown is basically ST, and is competing with other ST players for a spot.
Could be another ST player as the 7th. I think that's what Simi has to shoot for.

We also get at least one "free" WR spot to start the season with Gallup on IR.
Gallup comes back and Simi gets bumped to the PS, if we don't have any other WR injured by that time.

Only way that happens is the Cowboys think they can get him on the PS. They probably won't take the chance of losing him and list him as a TE.

Its possible, I am just not sold on him but would love to be wrong.
