Considering his age (32) and salary, no more than a 5th imo.

Parsons, Lawrence, Williams, Fowler, Quinn and if we get good production out of Osa + Gallimore, sounds pretty good to me!

Would have to be a 1 year rental.

No. We already have similar type players in Dante Fowler and Dorance Armstrong. Besides, Sam Williams needs lots of playing time to develop.
Quinn is better then all of those guys as a pass rusher combined. A defensive end rotation of Tank, Armstrong, Williams, and Quinn would be one of the best In the league.

No, we need to let the guys play and learn as in Armstrong and Williams.
Fowler is younger and will be more value mixed with Armstrong and Williams.

Not right now. Let's see what we have first before taking on that salary.

Notice his 2022 salary isn't bad @ $12.8M.

Matt Eberflus on Robert Quinn’s unexcused absence: We hoped he would be here

The Cowboys would inherit his base salaries:
2022: 12.8M
2023: 13,9M
2024: 12.9M

He won't be a part-time pass rush specialist for any team at those numbers.

The year he played for the Cowboys, he was the worst run defending DE that they've had since George Selvie had to replace an injured Anthony Spender in 2013.

There must be a reason that he has changed teams continuously.

Dante Fowler reminds me of Quinn. Fowler had 11.5 sacks in 2019.
- He is a good pass rusher when healthy, but has never been a quality run defender.
- His best year of run defense was in 2020 with Dan Quinn.
- Fowler is the pass rush specialist.
- Armstrong will be the base downs run defending RDE and Sam Williams & Fowler will rotate on passing downs.
- Dan Quinn will have some packages where they're all on the field.
- Quinn's 5-man DL which he started using at times late last season, used 4 DEs and 1 DT.
- DLaw & Armstrong will be the inside DEs and SW/Fowler will be the outside Stand-Up DEs that 'look' like 3-4 OLBs.

Why didn't we keep him after the 2019 season?

If the issue was the cap, then how could we afford him now?

Honestly, that Ship has sailed like Jack sparrow riding off into the sunset in the last POCB movie. We have drafted Future Possible superstar that needs to develop + we have a former 6th Overall Pick ready to get his next Quinn like payday. So I really do not want to take snaps from them unless, they are just absolutely terrible. We should know more by end of the mini camp.

Nope, i'm not interested in Quinn.

... especially now that " Sam- I-Am" is on board, and could have as much intriguing physical tools, developing skill set and actual higher upper ceiling than even Robert Quinn himself.

- Williams has his own first step explosion, even now he is already actually bigger than Quinn at 21 pounds- and likely to get even stronger, bigger with future NFL programs.
I say commit immediate and future development towards our own Quinn like version in Williams.

I'll bring Williams into that discussion comparison mix vs Quinn.
But not Fowler .. and definitely not Armstrong.

- Twice in his career, Quinn has had 19 and 18 sack seasons, When it comes to pure edge pass rushing, he's tops among NFL best.
Armstrong will never have half of those type single seasons, and he's not nowhere close to that kind of impact pass rusher.

- Fowler has had an 11 sack season under Wade Phillips, but it's also has to be a reason why he was available on the street, for such a surprising cheap
bargain one year deal price.
That being said, for his speed rushing edge style, ... being part of a Hybrid rotation Quinn scheme, and the price we got him for, i have no qualms
at all about Fowler being here.

 Do you think our "similar" players have an 18-sack ceiling???

Dante Fowler has many similarities to Robert Quinn.
- Similar build.
- Both have played 3-4 OLB and 4-3 DE.
- Both have had high sack seasons and minimal sack seasons.
- Both are sub-par run defenders.
- Both are best utilized as pass rush specialists to minimize the run defense issues.

Year …....... Quinn ... Fowler
2016 …......... 4 …......... 4
2017 …......... 8.5 …...... 8
2018 …......... 6.5 …...... 4
2019 …......... 11.5 …... 11.5
2020 …......... 2 …......... 3
2021 …......... 18.5 ….... 4.5

2022 Base Salary:
Quinn: 12.8M
Fowler: 2.5M plus 500K in incentives.

Chicago allowed Quinn to rush the passer with minimal regard for run defense.
- Marinelli did the same with Quinn in 2019.

Fowler had injury issues in 2020 that lingered into 2021.

DLaw & Armstrong will play base downs (run downs).
- Sam Williams and Fowler will rotate on passing downs.

Even if the Cowboys had Robert Quinn on the roster, Dan Quinn would not play him on run downs.
- In a pass rush specialist role, Fowler has similar potential to Robert Quinn.
- Robert Quinn would not be happy if relegated to a non-starter pass rush specialist role.

Summary: Robert Quinn has more value to a team like Chicago in 2021 or Cowboys in 2019 with Marinelli than to teams that would relegate him to pass rush specialist.
