I'm a little surprised how long it's been for the 49ers, Packers, and Steelers

I wonder how they counted this, the Vikings have never won the Super Bowl, but they have them at 53 years. So if you went to the Super Bowl it counts because that was an NFL championship, but after the merger in 1970 it's not because then you only won a conference?

Show me the list of teams and how long it has been since they at least played in a super bowl. Several of the teams ahead of Dallas and a few below have played in 1 or more super bowls since 1996.

Take the Cardinals for example - the list above says 75 years, but they played in a super bowl 13 years ago.

There’s a few of those teams that have never won a championship. Minnesota and Buffalo have been to the Super Bowl 8 times between them and are 0-8.

That was another of the games that convinced me SOMETHING was going on w/ the refs. They handed that game to the Steelers, and it was obvious.

Of course, the game I always use as the example was much worse, JAX getting hosed vs NE in 2017. NFL should be embarrassed for the spectacle, they should apologize to the fans.

The pick six for the TD by Pitt - it still irritates me every time I see that highlight. The refs could have called at least 5 penalties on that return and ignored every one of them.

It makes no sense they credit Minnesota with a championship in 1969 even though they lost the Super Bowl to KC. They won the NFL conference title game against the Rams but lost the SB.

And it's not just that they could've called penalties, they ignored obvious ones right in front of their faces.

I just said I would like to see that list, I wasn't trying to invalidate the one you posted. But you have to get there to have a chance at winning one, and Dallas is 1 of 10 teams who haven't made it there since 1996. And to make things a little worse, Dallas is also 1 of just 5 NFL teams who hasn't been to a conference championship game.

Want to make an even interesting list? Make a list that ranks all teams that have won a championship (number of times won), and include the pre super bowl era. Guess who is right on Dallas' heels with 4? The Detroit Lions.

I mean it would be nice to get to the SB but all that matters is winning it.

I never knew they were credited with a championship either. The Vikings were part of the NFL so Kansas City wasn’t recognized as NFL champions even though they won the Super Bowl because they were part of the AFL.

You got it spot on. The Vikings did win an NFL Championship. The exact same game they gave the Lions credit for 65 years ago. Yeah, the leagues weren't merged yet, so those first 4 Super Bowls were basically bragging rights games.

It wasn't an NFL conference title game. It was the NFL Championship game. The NFL and AFL were not merged yet. It would be like the winner of the Super Bowl in the NFL playing the Champion of say....the NSFL.
