I would take any of those besides Beasley and Jones. Beasley is strictly a slot guy.

Beasley could still help, but I also think he's a possible distraction and honestly he likely burned bridges here. Julio may still be a possibility with the Quinn connection. I don't know what he has left, but wouldn't mind taking a flyer.

He could help telegraph plays. He is not a downfield threat all the routes he runs you can get a TE or RB to do. Rather get a guy that can at least work on the outside and move around the formation whether slot or outside.

They won't even acknowledge his absence, so people will forget we were too cheap to keep Wilson, and dumb enough to pay injured Gallup.

Who's going to pick up the slack when he gets injured again?

Ole Ced will be missed. Maybe had the most rapport with Dak of all the WR's.

That's the thing that really doesn't make sense. We know Jerry is mostly detached from football logic, but one thing he makes absolutely sure of is that his huge investments are held in high stature even if their play is average to subpar. That's why Cooper is gone. Meanwhile, Dak and Wilson seemed to have VERY good chemistry, as you mentioned. Why would they want to lose that? And while Gallup might be a good WR (when healthy), I have far more memories of he and Dak not being on the same page versus times they were, like many deep balls over his head.

Hopefully somebody. I fully don't expect Gallup back until at least week 6-8 at least.

I don't think it's going be one player per se.........remember we trying to replace not just his targets/yards but also Coop. I'm guessing we could see a combination of players ( Zeke, Pollard, Shultz, Tolbert, Washington, Fehoko, Brown) used to see who can step up their game before he returns. That way if we can get at least 2 or 3 playing at a high level, it'll take some attention off Lamb. In other words, used his absence to find/create another stud or two.

Kellen doesn't ultilize the RBs well in pass game, so how can they be counted in the mix of helping with the Gallup situation... ? :(

If somebody currently on roster is capable of picking up the slack then Gallup will not be worth what he was paid.

It's really that simple.

There needs to be a clear difference in Gallup and everyone not named CeeDee Lamb for Gallup to be worth his contract.

i think it will be at least a month- 4 to 6 weeks ... and problem is with the way it's been trending with Gallup, it may be only a matter of time
before it's another, different type of injury that keeps him out games.

Gallup is far from the highest paid WR, someone else stepping up and showing they can play at this level has nothing to do with Gallup and his own skill sets. Gallup is proven does not mean others can't go out there and prove themselves as NFL quality players

Maybe,.. but who knew Ceddy Wilson was gonna be as effective as he ended up being ?

Sometimes we dunno how good a certain under the radar player can be unless..until he's placed in a position to have a chance at emerging, breaking out.

If someone like Noah Brown can easily step in produce at the same rate as Gallup then Gallup is not worth what he was paid.

Gallup is currently the 20th highest paid WR (according to Spotrac).

Noah Brown isn't even in the top 100 paid WRs (according to Spotrac).

If Brown can step in and give us what Gallup gives us then Gallup isn't worth the cap space he takes up.

I'm fine with it. I hope someone does step up and ball out.

I just think that if that happens then it makes Gallup looks like just another bad contract on the books for the Cowboys.

I mean, we'll almost certainly lose the WR that filled in and played at the same level as Gallup, but we'll be stuck with Gallup, who may or may not be an injury waiting to happen because of his contract.

- i hope to hear James Washington's name a quite great deal more this summer, this camp, this preseason....
Unfortunate a mini camp injury wiped out valuable needed time to get adjusted, implemented in this offense that
is new to him.

- A lot is gonna be placed on rookie Jalen Tolbert with Gallup out (if Washington cannot be counted on very early on).
As Tolbert may have to be counted on at Gallup's outside spot, as well as still learning the slot.
So we'll have to deal with the learning process, the speed bumps and ups and downs as he comes along.

- This is why i'd prefer a more loaded depth chart of legit WR options. ..that does not include with the likes of Noah Brown, Simi Fehoko, very limited and project guys..
And sorry i'm one of those that's tired out of the 10 yrd catch radius Noah Brown, whose reached his limit
and will not offer anything more than just 10 yards and special teams work.

We shall see how everything plays out.

I wasn't big on keeping Gallup. I think he, like Lamb, benefitted a lot from Cooper being out there. Now add the injuries that may or may not affect him going forward and it all becomes a little to murky for my liking. I would have rather filled that hole with someone else, but Dallas loves their own, so I don't think that was ever an option.

He is listed at 26 and what he got in FA was well within the market he should have gotten. The play of another player has no bearing on this what so ever, hell if someone can step up and show they are capable that gives us 3 WR who are capable, hell I hope to see others step up as well. Gallup represents 2% of the cap he is not take up that much. You guys complain Jerry is cheap? lol you guys are cheap and do not seem to figure out that the cap continues to go up cap is 208 mill and in 2023 will go up to 218 mill.

Gallup's contract says he should be better then some randoms off the bench.

His contract based on others in the NFL putting up similar numbers is right in line. As for what another player does, you hope to be able to draft guys and develop them but that is on them and has nothing to do with the job that Gallup does. Gallup market Value according to the same Spotrac was an avg of 11.8 mill a year contract and what did Gallup get paid? 11.5 so regardless of your views of market value within the NFL Dallas did not overpay or underpay, they were pretty much spot on.

I said what I said and I'll say it again.

I don't care if he is not a top paid WR or not. If some rando off the bench can give us the same level of production then he should have not been paid what he was paid.

I don't see how that's so hard to comprehend. You pay more money for something that you think is better, right?
