IIRC , back n the '70s, a few Cowboys stars formed a team that would travel around the state to play games, with the proceeds from attendance and concessions going to charity.
I went to one of those games when I was kid. It was fun to see some of the players up close and personal. Got to meet "Too Tall" Jones, Ron Fellows, Dennis Thurman and Drew Pearson!! All great guys who were so nice to the fans after the game!!

as has been shown over the years, that meant nothing. Only morons still harp on it. Tom Brady several times took vacations during the bye week.
But of course for those morons that think this is important they have no explanation.

Tom Brady came back and won championships. Romo and his gang came back and were unprepared.

I guess only morons are able to see the difference.

Hate to be that guy, but it always concerns me when guys play basketball in the off season. It's a notoriously brutal sport for lower body injuries.

Like the prior poster said, hopefully he's taping his ankles and what not. Back in the day basketball shoes used to actually offer ankle support. Not so much anymore.
That looks like a "polite" game. Ive done a lot pickup games in my life and even on concrete he would have gotten.....contact ....to one degree or another.

I think they understand who he is and "let" him get to the rim.

I can't remember who it was but there was a RB that got a career ending knee injury playing touch football on a beach during the off-season
You can hurt yourself getting out of bed too.

Not saying you have to take chances. But you ALSO have to live life. For those that know basketball....THAT...is a very friendly game he's doing there.

Robert Edwards for the Patriots, it was an NFL endorsed day-before-pro-bowl flag football game during his rookie year. I remember it super well, I was really into fantasy football and he and Fred Taylor both had monster rookie years and they were supposed to be the next Emmitt and Barry

Look up his pro football reference stat page, it’s ugly

As long as its not hard core

I'd much rather see players using some of their free time doing something other than playing video games, hitting bar, or doing parties. A little is ok, do something active.
Never understand why some folks had any issue, ever, with players playing golf....for example:grin:

If he drives, he can get in a car wreck. If he walks, he can get hit by a car. There is no such thing as totally safe, everything someone does has risk. From food to water to airborne pathogens...to live is to risk.

Pretty sure many players play a few games during the offseason.........not sure it's a good idea but it happens.

You're probably right. No lie though, "polite" games can get chippy too. Lol

I think you're right though.

It's a fine line.

I once saw a guy bust his achilles with no one in five feet of him. I've heard of people doing the same thing getting outta the shower. What can you do?

As long as he's not golfing or wearing his hat backwards this should have no impact on how good he is.
