Besides being the lead motion wide receiver on a run play to block, what else does he bring to the table?

I'm hoping we can go with someone else this season. Vasher or an unknown camp/pre-season standout. Please give me your thoughts, keep him, or let the experiment be over!!??
We had a chance to replace him with that rookie , Malik …instead we give him a contract and let the rookie walk.
I think he has some Jerry pictures, LOL

This could not be said any better. Well done, very well done.
Thank you lol. Seen way to much Noah Brown talk this past week I’m hoping it’s just pre-camp blah blah.

Maybe I’ll start a thread about our 6th string LB and ask if we should be churning there. Should fit right in.

Because if Dak is good at anything, it's spreading the ball around to different players. He's great a looking through his progressions, and when you have players who don't really do much for the offense, taking up a roster spot, you wonder what you could do with his position, and you weigh whether his production elsewhere on ST, and, yes, blocking, is worth keeping him as the dirty work sort of guy.

It's worth discussing, because it may or may not be a potential question mark. If Noah Brown's job were secure, then they wouldn't need to invite all the other UDFA WRs on the roster. And there are some interesting prospects on the roster.
He’s great at that yes but WR5’s don’t get offensive snaps. Between the top 4 WR’s, 2 TE’s, and RB’s the WR5 is the 9th or 10th option on offense which equals a guy who’s rarely going to get on the field anyway.

If you’re looking for 5th WR’s for what they actually do on gameday then you’re looking at Noah Brown. I said in my post if any of the youngins show that they can do the ST’s and dirty work plus a chance at a higher ceiling then they’ll make the team.

I don’t think it’s likely any of them do the WR5 stuff better but let the best man win. I just don’t think a down roster WR should be discussed as much as it has this week. Some people are so passionate about it too it’s weird lol.

This Noah Brown thing is so strange to me.

Why are y’all so obsessed with the 5th WR? WR5’s are guys who rarely see the field for consistent offensive snaps, they are primarily ST’ers. When they do get to play, you’re looking for a reliable/solid player who can help in a pinch.

Noah Brown is the epitome of what a WR5 is.

You can hope for a playmaking guy to take his spot but that’s not what WR5’s are on the roster for. If the guy can’t block and play ST’s better than Noah Brown he won’t make the team over him, simple.

The top 4 WR’s are who you look for to make plays, not WR5. Additionally, none of the other WR’s have shown anything to usurp him.

If Fehoko, Vasher, or one of the other guys can make plays in the preseason and show higher than WR 4/5 potential while also playing ST’s at a high level then you won’t see Noah Brown on the team. But until that happens you’re not gonna see Brown replaced and rightfully so.

You don’t need a finesse WR5 you need a ST’er who does the dirty work. Stop worrying so much about guys who are 5th on the depth chart.
I think the real question should be do you want to pay a vet salary for a WR who's main focus is going to be ST's. Brown does what his roster spot dictates he does

Understandable, but he’s only a 1.4M$ cap hit. I think that’s not even half an M above what a rookie would be making. I don’t think his salary affects it at all since it’s not much higher than what rooks get.

For comparison Simi Fehoko’s cap hit is 885K. Really not enough of a difference for salary to be a factor. As Bob said, he’s cheap.

I'd have to agree with your assessment about your questions involving Noah Brown's worth to the Cowboys. I think Vasher might quite easily prove to be a considerable upgrade from what we'd be likely to get from Noah Brown. I think he's been extremely fortunate to have lasted as long as he has with the Cowboys. Let's see what other WRs like Vasher are able to contribute once training camp gets underway. I feel there are other WRs who may do better.

Not sure. Maybe he is showing improvement. I thought they would keep Wilson. It’s like Brown is a salary cap casualty for us. I hate saying that and feel bad about it. None of these kids that have been here a few years are worthless. I am pulling for him. I just watched him drop a simple pitch TD that was in a crucial time. I remember some saying Dak threw the 5 yard TD toss a little behind him which is a dumb thing to say. Was in his hands. I hope he comes in strong.

More than any of yo9u jealous fans who are NOT talent evaluators..players lie this exist on all teams..22 starters , depth and then role niche players make up all 53 ..when fans get it in their head those coaches know more than any and all of you and they have good reason to keep players like NB around. Sure hes replaceable but as of now hes here for reason.

now go back and build your little virtual madden football team and prepare for fantasy football..its al you will ever be good at..lmao, leave the real football for coaches and FO people that spent a lifetime learning their craft to have these little gnats question their every move..

Pathetic posts keep them coming so i can come :espn: on them..

Complaining about the 5th WR is just so lame.

Wilson was way too expensive for what you get.

Vasher can block at a very high level and play ST's at a very high level? I haven't heard this about him, where'd you get that info?

The guy's been hidden in the depth chart. Brown’s prowess as a blocker could be a factor here. If the Cowboys lean more on their run game during Gallup’s potential absence, Noah could get to see more snaps for that side of his game as well.

And consider this, James Washington & Jalen Tolbert have never played a single down for the Cowboys. Simi Fehoko only had seven snaps on offense last year & was never targeted.
