Not only did Zeke get screwed, but Randy Gregory got screwed worse than the two of them. How does Watson get less time than Gregory when all Gregory did, in comparison to Watson, was smoke weed? This makes no sense. So, is the NFL saying that weed is worse than what Watson had to settle with 23 women over?
its simple really. Gregory and Zeke are cowboys. Watson is not. if we had watson on the team, he would be suspended indefintely.

Can’t make these comparisons. Different rules were in play. Substance abuse including marijuana which is still illegal in many states including Texas was a serious offense.

Forcing oneself on as many as 60 women is way more serious than smoking pot. Maybe Gregory got what he deserved, although I think it was a bit heavy handed, but allowing Watson to play in the NFL after just 6 games sends the wrong message, IMO. I just seems like Goodell is only heavy handed some of the time.

Zeke got 6 games for what was basically a drunken prank, and what everyone believed were false accusations from ONE woman. So let's keep in mind Watson settled with 20 women and still has 4 civil cases pending. If more evidence comes out in those trials, this could be the Ray Rice embarrassment for the league all over again. Watson should have gotten an indefinite suspension pending the outcome of the civil trials.

No sympathy for that man whatsoever. He tossed both Jerry, Dak & our fanbase under the bus after leaving Dallas. Jerry gave him so many chances. It was Jerry who "got screwed"!

Exactly, and who knows, maybe we go to the SB if Zeke was allowed to play without that hanging over his head.
I dont know about all that, but the lack of holding calls on our opponents during the appeal was a joke. There was something like 6-8 games without a call. No way was that a coincidence.

Goodell is a piece of crap. I dont like him. I can't see who does or would. Him trying act all hip and cool with players makes me want to vomit.

It was ridiculous. He's hardly ever cool with our players on top of that.

Weed is an illegal drug. Much worse than inappropriate flirting.

This is the strangest thing, when we've come to the point in our society when people think inappropriate flirting is worse than drug use. I hope people aren't teaching their kids this crapp.

Goodell is the fall guy for the NFL owners. Of course he's a piece of crapp, you don't hire a yacht captain to take out the trash. He's paid a ton because he is a piece of crapp.

Drug use is bad, don't get me wrong. But SA is bad too. Very bad.

Settling is a business decision when you have money. Nothing to do with guilt.

What did Watson do that was sooo bad? No one can ever say what?

Gregory didn’t even get his indefinite suspension entirely for smoking some weed either. He got it breaking a rehabilitation commitment to the NFL’s legal team over and over and over.

Smoke some weed is bad.
Beat up your girlfriend is worse.
Continually lying to Goodell is how you get the monster bans.

This Watson suspension has started the hour of twisting narratives.

These are not comparative punishments. They were handed down through two different processes. I know it's easy for you to look at it that way from the outside, but it's not decided that way. Plus you obviously have an implied bias by downplaying the act of smoking weed. Maybe you live in a state where it's legal, but that's not the reality everywhere and the NFL still respects federal law.

It was a simple rule easily followed by all but the “truly stupid” that he chose to repeatedly break. The only person that screwed Gregory was Gregory!

Yeah that was so incredibly obvious with the lack of holding calls. And some of the missed holding calls were really obvious. Reminds me of the holding call on David Irving in the packers playoff game.. He was tackled from behind in front of the ref.

Again , remember Goodell wanted a year suspension and longer.

I agree the trials could expose more evidence. And why I believe the league was arguing for an indefinite suspension .

My hunch from this is this 6 game suspension was based on what we know now. And if more comes out next year in these trials then Watson could face more discipline.

The league for the moment has done all they could arguing for more punishment. This clears them of any preferences or lack of stricter discipline. It’s likely they accept and move on keeping a close on on upcoming trials.

Gregory kept smoking weed which led to longer suspensions. What he did was proven by drug tests. Zeke was accused of domestic violence on the heels of the Ray Rice fiasco. However Watson should’ve gotten a year suspension. The fact he didn’t play a game last year must have been taken into consideration.

Yep

Most employers in Texas still pre employment drug test . And Marijuana is included. Texas is still arresting people in possession or under the influence. There’s a few more lenient counties in Texas which are only traffic ticketing for small amounts of possession.

Gregory is 1st ever I’m aware of who tested positive at the Combine . That’s like showing up to your job interview high and testing positive. How blatant is that. And he continued testing positive when he knew the consequences.
