The offense struggling early in TC is a good thing

It means that our defence really is a great defence or borderline elite, as we know. Considering who we are playing week 1, it's important that our offense struggles early with our defence, as good as it is. It means they have to work that much harder to get in sync with each other. It means the offense has to be creative because the simple stuff simply won't work on our defence. Now, next week, I expect them to start beating the D a bit more. It's not like it used to be where our offense ran roughshod on the D in TC, and couldn't figure out top defences. Our defence really is a top D, and struggling against them can be helpful for the long-term season.

I'll make an additional point. Where would you rather see the offense struggle? Regular season or training camp? I'd rather them struggle in TC because it'll only make them that much better come time for the season, and it'll force the coaches to adjust or the FO to have to add more weapons, which will only make the offense better.

So, what you're saying is they should be able to breeze through TC? I'd rather they have to struggle in TC with our defence. We know our defence should be among the top, especially with what they accomplished last year. If our offense is struggling with that defence, then they have to work that much harder to beat that defence. We have a hard defence week 1 in the Bucs. Having to face tight coverages, and hard to run against defences in TC means that we should be that much more prepared to play the Bucs. That's why struggling early is a good thing.

You are assuming that its the defense that is giving them fits and not just same offense we saw at the end of last year.

Having your offense look like crap in camp is never a good thing no matter how you try and spin it.

Hahaha exactly. What's the purpose of this thread? Where's that master of the obvious meme when you need it.

I posted this thread because there seem to be people thinking that we suck or that we're not going anywhere this year based on camp. I'm stating that this early struggling is a good thing for the reason I provided. There's a whole thread about Dak struggling in practice 2. I saw a video from Mark Holmes talking about our WRs struggling, and they clearly are. My point is this is actually good early on. They will have to improve to beat this D, and think what that means for playing the Bucs.

True, and it could be that, especially with young WRs. What I'm saying is, even if that's the case, that means the WRs will need to be that much better each day they come out to practice to try to beat this defence.

They are just running plays. We will see vanilla in preseason also. Working on timing. I am not worried about Dak. He don’t practice the best. He does harder throws and results in more picks. Our Defense is working on getting it done.

Here's the other thing. If the WRs really aren't good. Then it's better to know that now so that Jerry has time to use some of that powder to get a WR or two in here such as an Emmanuel Sanders. This would allow them to be able to use TC for them to learn the offense and attack our defence to get ready for Tampa.

I agree, and that's why I'm saying that its a good thing if they're having a rough go of it.

You'll get a read on the offense in preseason games. Along with scrimmages with the Bolts.
But put me in the concerned camp. Deeply concerned.

Man I sure am glad my wallet is empty ...... It just means I can fit more money in it later

The point of this thread is to point out that it's early in TC, and there's plenty of time for the FO to find a fix if the solution to the struggles is not in the building, especially at WR. If they're smart, they'll see it, and, if it goes today and tomorrow with similar results, sign a WR to try to add to the group and make the offense more dangerous. Maybe they have to sign an olineman. That's the FOs job to find out now so that they can tinker with the roster on offense to improve it.

I agree with this, and Jerry needs to be getting Emmanuel Sanders, DJax, or other WRs in here to be worked out so that, if those don't go well, then they have a WR or two in here that would be ready to be signed.

I am just glad it's not the normal training camp justifications of saying the reason one side of the ball is playing poorly is because the other side is playing great.

Now that is an optimistic take rusty.
Hope you are right.
Hopefully we have both a dynamic offense and defense.

The Cowboys don't have a great defence. Also, I believe it's way too early to talk about the how good our DEFENSE is going to be...
