I was never a Mahomes fan especially for that reason he throws everybody under the bus. Sure he can throw the ball left-handed between his legs. But he falls under the pressure also . Everybody knows I’m not a fan of his
I think mahomes is over rated. He throws better than Dak perhaps. But Dak has a problem trusting his arm and letting it go.

I wish you had a little bit more confidence , Also. I don’t know what it is about him. I don’t think he’s afraid. I think he was taught not to throw interceptions. Sometimes you just have to let it go though. He’s not afraid to stand in the pocket I know that for sure

I like Mahomes, but he was GREATLY aided by Reid and Tyreek Hill. We will see what he does without Hill.

I guess OP could not post his thoughts on one of the other "Dak ain't that good" threads.

Anyway ...... Dak is between the 13th to 7th best QB in the NFL ...... And we can never get a top one coming out of college because we never lose enough games.

Maybe you Dak haters will get your wish and he will get hurt again and we will go 2-15 and have a shot at the top QB in the draft in the next few years.

Personally I hope Dak takes the next step and finds success in the playoffs ..... But that's just me as a Cowboy fan.

But it's gonna be hard for any QB to find success on a Jerry Jones run team.

I don't have a problem with Dak getting paid. It is what it is. But just because you paid him...that does not mean his performance equates to his paycheck. Jerry should KNOW this. Just because Dallas is the most highly valued franchise in all of sports...that does not mean the product on the field is the cream of the crop. Jerry is reluctant to pay people because he is not sure their performance will equal their paycheck...but he has no problem stuffing his pockets with all the money he can, all the while the performance of his team does not reflect the franchise value.

Dak is who he is. His ceiling is Russell Wilson. BUT. BUT. You have to have the right pieces around him. Coaching, the Legion of Boom, the running game and defense allowed Russell Wilson to be the best version of himself and he maximized his potential and had a couple of Super Bowl runs. Why would we take the #1 offense in the NFL last year....and downgrade the WRs corps by a lot? The Oline is downgraded. The RB position is downgraded (Zeke is who he is at this point...and you don't get better as you age). Mike McCarthy is no Pete Carrol. And AT&T stadium is not the homefield advantage that Seattle had.

We have seen Dak without WRs before. It was not pretty. We are trying something that has already failed. Teams are going to load the box and force Dak to beat them with Lamb and (3rd round rookie, USFL star, undrafted rookie etc...). We will try to run into a loaded box. Get into predictable 3rd and longs when the run is stuffed. And be under a lot of pressure to convert unfavorable down and distances multiple times per drive. Oh, I forgot to mix in a penalty from the OL. Like I said, we have seen this before, it is not rocket science. Oh, I almost forgot, we will probably put up enough yards to appear.....

I cannot take this team seriously. I knew not to take them seriously when I witnessed the comedy club act at McCarthys signing. Then he immediately went to work proving to be the clown we now know he is. The one thing Jerry had done over the Garrett years and now McCarthy... is keep enough talent on the field to give off the appearance of a title team in SPITE of the coaching. But the one thing you HAVE to have when your talent on the field is AVERAGE....is good coaching. And going into this season, I seriously question the talent on the field. And we now know it was not McCarthy in Green Bay, it was Rodgers. And I don't care what stats Dak has/will put up...he ain't Rodgers.
His ceiling is not Russell Wilson lol

His ceiling was reached in 2016. That was the best, most complete, and most efficient version of Dak we've seen. That's a Dak that we can win with. He's been chasing that ghosts ever since.

Maybe this year. Romo gained more every year and they become more seasoned.

See, you've been led to believe that about Jerry because the last time we actually took the QB position seriously was Aikman. That was the last time the Cowboys drafted a 1st round QB and it led to 3 Super Bowl.

We've wasted the past 15 years on an undrafted talent and now a 4th round dual-thread talent that won't be dual-threat anymore. We don't value the QB position enough. Instead, we pay a guy top money because he overachieves. Dak or Romo either one was never good enough. They buckle. They're too inconsistent. They can't be trusted to go through the playoffs without having a stinker of a game.

QBs can 100% win under Jerry. It's been done by Aikman.

The problem with Jerry is he thinks he's found the next Brady when one of his 3rd string QBs gets a chance and then plays well. He locks in on that guy and gets tunnel vision. The reality is Brady is a 1 of 1. Brady is the outlier of all outliers. You can't try and recreate that.

My wish is for Jerry to take the QB position seriously again for the 1st time since Aikman. Draft a 1st round talent, sign a big name QB in FA, or make a blockbuster trade. I know that can't happen for a few years, but when possible I'd like to see it done. If he was serious about doing anything to win then he would sure up the most important position on the team with a real talent.

How can you not be a fan of Mahomes? Kid is fun to watch.

Just an odd thing to say...like you need to tear him down to prop somebody else up higher.

So why post? Why watch and follow the team? Why such a lengthy rant that is based on pure speculation and hyperbole? Why do that to yourself for all to see? What is that going to solve? Why not be patient and wait and see how these decisions turn out this year and the next for this team? Lots of good decisions, drafts and moves have been made in recent years with this team and organization. Patience is a virtue.
Because I am a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. And I was BEFORE Jones bought the team. And if I wasn't a fan before he bought the team....I would not become a fan under his ownership. I detest everything about his ownership. My 2nd favorite team is the Baltimore Ravens. I just like how they get down. They have a culture. The draft towards that culture. And they have success. Ugly, pretty, injuries, "nothing to play for" etc...they play toward their culture. And I respect that. You don't have to win the Super Bowl every year to be respected. No one wins it every year. And Dallas does not have to win every year for me to fall in love again. They just have to be run like a REAL football operation. And they aren't...that is why I do not take them seriously.

Plus I have not posted in a long time. Why? Because this owner has pushed me into "show me" mode. And when I watch what he has done to last years team...and the fact that he did that at his age...it tells all I need to know. So some of ya'll can listen to what comes out his mouth...I listen to how he moves.

I have been with this franchise since the 70s...and Jerry....as the primary architect of this franchise has won 4 playoff games. That's almost as many as Joe Burrow won last year as a 2nd year player coming off a complete knee reconstruction playing behind a terrible oline. This league is designed for you to at least get lucky every now and then....Jerry has proven he cannot even do that!

And he has a killer play action. People just have to blame somebody. Is he the best , no but you don’t need the best to win. Aaron Rodgers one ring, Patrick Mahone’s they never see another one again. I don’t know how people keep forgetting that teams win championships . Not just the quarterbacks
You get no argument from me. TEAM win. And Dak needs a certain type of TEAM around him to win. Agree or disagree?

Jerry was only defacto GM then ....... Jimmy was running the show and taught those guys to win.

It's because of Jerry's ineptitude that we only won 3 Superbowls with that literal superteam.

yeah, ok, Tad…….you better get started on washing and waxing Daks Bentley.
Our broken slow plodding RB is a bigger issue than Dak. Just either move on from him and give the better player the chance or move him to FB. No one can pretend his is an RB1 player anymore.

Exactly, has the OP seen the money Murray just got paid? And his leadership sucks and he doesn't know what game tape is. Dak's contract looks like a bargain by comparison, and wait until Lamar Jackson gets paid.
I said I don't have a problem with Dak getting paid. But much like Jerry expected Zeke to carry the load last year, he expects Dak to elevate average WRs. Mostly because of how much of the cap is allocated to them. Zeke being forced to carry the load was Jerry's way of sending the message that your paycheck demands you EARN it. And Jerry has ALWAYS been like this. But sports is NOT like this. If you are hurt, you are hurt. I don't care if you are the highest paid or on a veteran minimum. Zeke was HURT last year. It happens. Next man up. But not in Jerry world.

Daks price tag suggest he should be elevate average WRs in Jerry's mind. And yes, a lot of other QBs have the same price tag. But does not make Dak or them great. So put the right team around Dak to set him up for success!
