Just because you paid him does not make him worth it

……I wish Rayne Dakotas ceiling was as high as Wilson’s. If it is, I wish Russ would show him how to throw the deep ball with accuracy
As long as he does not throw an interception on the 1 yard line in the Superbowl when we get there. Not a big Russ fan but find it fascinating the sports world and everyone involved SOMEHOW forgot about that play!

there was more to do about that play than Wilson’s talent level. We may never know why that was called but as the old adage goes..just follow the money

You do agree that the D put that team on the map and not Russ though correct?

But he falls under the pressure also

You mean the Patrick Mahomes who has an 8-3 playoff record. 4 AFC Championship game appearances & 2 SB appearances. Who has passed for almost 3400 yards, 28 TD's & 7 Int in those games for a QB rating of 105.7 while being sacked 27 times. While adding another 323 yards & 5 TD's on the ground. Oh, and those rushes often converting to keep drives alive. Because, you know, his teammates couldn't.

There isn't a team in the league who wouldn't take those kind of "failures" because they know they might have 99 problems but the QB ain't one.

coaching, defense , beast mode, and yes TEAM. Russ had some to do with it but sure stopped the russ train quick when LOB aged out and many left..

I guess they forget he threw the SB game ending INT everyone thought they should have gave it to Beast mode :)) from the 2-yard line LMAO.

Brady thanks Russ for that,,

Obviously they had a very good defense and nothing should be taken from them. However, the offense led by Russ is the only thing that got them thru the playoffs & into the SB. As a second year QB he won a SB and would have had two if not for the insane preparation that the Patriots put in.

It's like saying Tom won that SB. No, he didn't. He was sitting on the bench. The game was out of his hands. Same for Seattle's defense in the playoffs leading to the SB. They were on the bench and the offense had to score to win the game. Gotta give the offense & the leader of the offense credit for performing when it mattered.

100%. I simply skip posts that suggest "Rodgers has only won 1" or "Mahomes is overrated"...this the delusional state Jerry has put many of the fans in. Jerry's genuis makes me chuckle! At this stage of my life...I have to laugh. I watch. In fact, I tell all of my friends...I get together with them to watch the games for the fellowship. But I have watched Jerry too closely over the decades to be fooled by what he is selling. Love the boyz. Will always cheer. But I know what I am watching, and ain't nothing changed. But who knows, a broke clock is right twice a day, so maybe we get LUCKY this year...because we are going to need it.

Most people agree they should have ran it .... but that ain't the play that was called. As a second year QB, he wasn't calling plays in a SB. Besides, the play call was fine. The Patriots just did their homework better and took the chance they knew what was coming.

I also found it interesting how many 3 and outs that D put the opposing offense in, which in turn led to more offensive plays and opportunities for Russ, yet the blame was put elsewhere on them scoring points. We SURELY get that as Cowboys fans when it comes to blame.

Dak has been on the best deep throwers in the league for like the past 4 seasons lol

But he has not been the same since there run. Not saying it is his fault.

Russ only got better (as you would expect a young player to do) while the rest of the team went downhill. It really is that simple, he and he alone has carried that franchise since the LOB & Beast Mode declined.

LOB & Beast were certainly the engines during his early years but that doesn't mean that Russ didn't make the plays to keep it all humming. He has been tremendous since day 1.

I don't have a problem with Dak getting paid. It is what it is. But just because you paid him...that does not mean his performance equates to his paycheck. Jerry should KNOW this. Just because Dallas is the most highly valued franchise in all of sports...that does not mean the product on the field is the cream of the crop. Jerry is reluctant to pay people because he is not sure their performance will equal their paycheck...but he has no problem stuffing his pockets with all the money he can, all the while the performance of his team does not reflect the franchise value.

Dak is who he is. His ceiling is Russell Wilson. BUT. BUT. You have to have the right pieces around him. Coaching, the Legion of Boom, the running game and defense allowed Russell Wilson to be the best version of himself and he maximized his potential and had a couple of Super Bowl runs. Why would we take the #1 offense in the NFL last year....and downgrade the WRs corps by a lot? The Oline is downgraded. The RB position is downgraded (Zeke is who he is at this point...and you don't get better as you age). Mike McCarthy is no Pete Carrol. And AT&T stadium is not the homefield advantage that Seattle had.

We have seen Dak without WRs before. It was not pretty. We are trying something that has already failed. Teams are going to load the box and force Dak to beat them with Lamb and (3rd round rookie, USFL star, undrafted rookie etc...). We will try to run into a loaded box. Get into predictable 3rd and longs when the run is stuffed. And be under a lot of pressure to convert unfavorable down and distances multiple times per drive. Oh, I forgot to mix in a penalty from the OL. Like I said, we have seen this before, it is not rocket science. Oh, I almost forgot, we will probably put up enough yards to appear.....

I cannot take this team seriously. I knew not to take them seriously when I witnessed the comedy club act at McCarthys signing. Then he immediately went to work proving to be the clown we now know he is. The one thing Jerry had done over the Garrett years and now McCarthy... is keep enough talent on the field to give off the appearance of a title team in SPITE of the coaching. But the one thing you HAVE to have when your talent on the field is AVERAGE....is good coaching. And going into this season, I seriously question the talent on the field. And we now know it was not McCarthy in Green Bay, it was Rodgers. And I don't care what stats Dak has/will put up...he ain't Rodgers.
Here is a refreshing new slant from the woah is me crowd.

FYI, Dak has a guy who was just in the pro bowl at Wr and a TE that has the franchise tag to work with.

Also, he is twice the qb he was in 2018.

Other than that, spot on!

Respectfully disagree. The D put Russ on the map as Tom and the Offense put the Pats on the map. Trent D. did not put the Ravens on the map, neither did Flacco. Why do you think Bucs are where there at now, the D. Everyone has an opinion, not trying to argue.

Dak has been one of the best and most accurate deep ball passers in recent years. Seriously don't know what you are talking about.
Dak has been on the best deep throwers in the league for like the past 4 seasons lol

He's not talking about the stats that say 20+ yards is a deep pass, he's talking about the bombs that Wilson puts up and on target. 40-50+ yards in the air. Dak can't do that. Not many can but it's an excellent weapon to have.

That is the directly contrary to the facts. He DIDN'T call the play. He delivered the ball on time & on target. Butler just knew to be there. I mean there have been whole specials where the Patriots talk about seeing that tendency & practicing it before the SB.

If we didn't "know" what happened it would be up for debate, but we know exactly what happened.
