News: Spagnola: Finally Decided to Belly Up to Barr

I flip flop on Mickey, sometimes. But I appreciate that he's at least consistent.

Some of the other players people wanted Dallas to sign were even older than Barr, which I'm cool with.

Barr says he came here because he thinks Dallas is a contender.
We have to get who's available.
I'm just disappointed in our linebacking corp. Almost everyone is injured. We'll have a great corp. once everyone gets off the MASH unit.

True. But we have some decent depth at the position behind the vets.

I think we'll be bringing in some more guys via free agency.

It is like a roller coaster, come along for the ride and the thrill.
Then at the end just hope no let down for a lame ride.

The roller coaster season is about to begin. We all, or should be, like kids waiting to get on that ride.
And if you are one that does not like rides, even the kiddie rides, then don't complain about the ride if you aren't on it. :lmao:

I used to love riding roller coasters ... until last summer when I discovered you have to be young to ride those things. My head bounced around so much, I felt I was experiencing whiplash. I guess my bone structure isn't as tight as it was when I was younger. Then, to top it off, the safety bar wouldn't release me when it was time to get off, and I couldn't squeeze myself out. I spent another 20 minutes on the ride while the operators tried to release me.

Somewhere in this story is a metaphor of my relationship with the Cowboys. ;)

I guess Micks own mantra matters not when trying to put a great spin on a signing to mask Jerry and Stevies flaws.

It’s the same schtick every time.

If the cowboys don’t sign a FA it’s “if he is so good. Why is he available”

The minute the cowboys sign him “what a smart move by the cowboys”.

he is a hack. He is the minister of propaganda for cowboys.com

All that being said. I’m fine with the Barr move. It’s a veteran presence on a cheap one year deal. It can’t hurt at all.

One year for $2 million plus goal incentives?

I'll take it.

How exactly do you "belly up" to someone? That sounds disgusting lol.
Where did the expression belly up to the bar come from?

"THE ORIGIN OF 'belly up to the bar' goes back to Colonial times, I was told," reader Gloria Leitner e-mailed in response to our recent mention of the phrase. "If your belly could reach the bar, you were old enough to drink," according to the tour guide she heard at an old Lexington tavern.May 11, 2008

George Edwards is sleeping well these days.

Dan Quinn, too.

Probably include Mike McCarthy with upgraded zzzz's nowadays.

Because when the linebacker coach, defensive coordinator and head coach look at their linebacker corps since Thursday they see in order:

Pro Bowl and 2021 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Micah Parsons.

2018 Pro Bowler Leighton Vander Esch his rookie season, and finally healthy and poised for a reboot.

And now, four-time Pro Bowler Anthony Barr, signed, sealed and delivered, comprising a powerful melatonin for a fidgety coaching staff almost halfway through training camp.
