Anyone thinking Quinn will be a savior is deluding themselves.

Not everyone feels that way. Quinn is excellent serving as this team's DC.

I would agree that serving as the team's HC is another animal, entirely. ;)

I love Quinn as the DC.

What evidence do we have that he is a better HC than mike?

Please share it if you have it.

He was incredibly unlucky in the SB, especially with how Shanahan's offense collapsed. Otherwise, he'd have the same number of Lombardis as Mike and Payton.

I’m not ripping Quinn. I still don’t see how it’s any guarantee he will be better than Mike.

Fair or not. The falcons also fell apart while he was HC.

How can it be coaching, if it was coaching all the linemen would get them, you don't see Zack,Steel, and Smith for the most part getting them. It's when guys get beat they hold plain and simple.

I saying its coaching of lack thereof because it started when McCarthy/Philbin started with the Cowboys. Conner Williams, Biadasz, and McGovern consistently cannot hold their own. Thus they get called for holding. Conner Williams is now gone, but we still have an issue with holding.

We aren't discipline enough or we flat out consistently hold in practice without repercussion. Which leads me to say it's coaching.

I get that, but what's to say that any coach would work here? Especially with Jerry

No it started years ago. We've had high penalty years before and not so high. No matter the coach

if a move is made...he'd be my choice.

So are you blaming Quinn too? His defense added to the penalties as well. It's on the players.

No Im not blaming Quinn. Offsides I blame on the players. Although one was questionable. Roughing the passer, we had two. One was questionable.

Presnap penalties such as false starts and holding calls, which the majority of our penalties shoulda, coulda been fixed by McCarthy and Philbin. We are still plagued by those penalties.

So how can offsides you not blame on coach but you blame false start on coaches, they can't stop a player from false starting, the players know the snap count, they can't stop a player from holding when they get beat. You can't excuse 1 and blame the other. Ultimately they fall on the players.

On defense you're taught to watch the ball.

2021 - Cowboys lead the league in penalties (Ranked #1)
2020 - Ranked #11
2019 - Ranked #15
2018 - Ranked #21
2017 - Ranked #24
2016 - #18

Stats shows that since McCarthy/Philbin started coaching, their penalties has escalated. It may not be true, but the stats are proving your argument wrong. Dallas wasn't a high penalized team until McCarthy/Philbin came on board.

Unless you think that the league is after us?

A head coaching change now would almost certainly derail our season. We’ve just started to set sail we need to wait it out for a while. However, if the penalties continue during the regular season and we start losing games I wouldn’t be surprised if McCarthy gets the ax before the end of the season. I saw concern on his face during his post game presser last night. We had more than twice as many penalties as Denver.

What is the WORST thing that could happen if Booger fired Corky tomorrow??? There is NO WAY I see this many penalties under Quinn....Corky continues to TOTALLY look disengaged from whats going during the game....he is a joke!!!

Seriously? Off sides is a players fault. All he has to do watch the football and don't move until it does. Easy fix.

False start is a mental and discipline issue. That part is on the coaches to make sure the team knows the snap count and call out the players that consistently make this mistake. Yes, it falls on the players. But why does this consistently happen over and over again? Thus the onus is on the coaches to make sure that this is fixed and they haven't done a good job at it.
