We cut Maher because he cost us games, did Jerry already forget? Let's go re-sign Jaylon Smith too!

Wow...just looks on Wiki at Maher's history. Since leaving Dallas he has really bounced around and hasn't been on an active roster much during that time. There needs to be someone better than him out there. I hope this is just a placeholder.

Big leg means zero without consistency. Maher was let go for a reason. And this is the best we could do? Embarrassing offseason to say the least. NFL is a sport where the margin of victory is the smallest of any sport. So many games decided by less than one score and guess what that means? Kicking plays a big part. We have not had a reliable kicker since Bailey in 2016. This front office keeps throwing stuff to the wall and hoping it sticks.

Give me a guy who can be relied on from the 30s-low 50s rather than some big leg who can connect on the 60s but is horribly erratic with the ones he should be making.

It's the equivalent from the guy at the local court who can make the crazy trick shots but can not make the consistent short shots. So he gets killed in a game of HORSE.

Lirim isn't a kid. He's 32, kicked in Canada for years. Opposite of Maher in that he doesn't have a strong leg.

Good move, it gives them an extra position player for the game on Friday. I like Maher. Love the kickoffs and the range. He will be fine for now.

According to DC.com, Cowboys should interested in bringing in Cameron Dicker.

What could be the harm?

There is no indication that Dallas has any interest in Dicker. Just speculation by sportswriters that he could be a target if they look around some more.

Dicker's punting was better than his kicking in college. College career below 80% on FG.
