This defense pass rush is slightly over-rated, there is no running game

I keep hearing this defense is ahead of the offense, look at all those pass rushers, look at the coverage etc but all of that falls apart when you have to stop the run game for four quarters.

Until I see them do it this defense is nothing, DON’T EVER FORGET WHAT HAPPENED IN THE PLAYOFFS VS 49ers.

Strong disagreement from me about the D. The offense will still be one of the best. I’m not sure how people think losing Wilson, Coop, and Collins will make us fall out of that category.

I feel this pass rush is top notch. One of the league’s best.

Jailbreak on Brady.

It's your reality. You live in it.
Whatever.

The defense is improved this year if you cant see it then so be it, and the offense will be better than most are expecting.
Dont know why this has to be polar opposite opinion, this team is going to be well balanced, just you wait and see my polar posting friend.
:D

Can’t tell much during preseason. We will see a flash here and there. Once the lights come on you will see. See us have long runs called back for sloppy play and flags at first. And maybe a blow assignment or 2 on Defense. Then we will settle in.

Given that Dallas spends 50% more on offense than defense, the offense better be ahead of the defense.

Fun facts:
- Dallas ranks 28th in spending on defense
- Dallas ranks 4th in spending on offense

At over a $40m differential, Dallas has far and away the biggest offense based bias in capspending. If Dallas loses a game 23-21 this year, I sure hope I don't hear complaints about defense. This team was built to control the ball and score points with offense. If they can't, the defense isn't going to save them.

And yeah, Dallas losing to SF was on the offense as a result. You can't score 7 points with several 3 and outs in the first 48 minutes of the game and expect to win in the playoffs.

The only place it would be overrated would be in this forum. The rest of the league isn’t quite as impressed as we are because they usually wait for things to actually occur before making a judgement.

however, I believe there’s sufficient evidence here to suggest that the defense is improving at a very solid pace. Unfortunately, I also believe that there is a bigger question towards how the offense will be this year.

not rocket science or special football acumen I’m utilizing, however I believe the off-season actions make this theory plausible by many others here as well.

I’m willing to over rate the chances of getting as many turnovers as last season and over rate the chances of getting that many less penalties than last season as well. I also over rate any of my prognostications as well.

My 5 year old thinks eating cereal for dinner every night is just fine but I'm not about to start a thread on his hot takes.

We’ll find out in the first four games!?
To be fair, what did we learn the first 7 games of last season?
Versus the final games, that is.

I think it's all about how you're rolling into the post-season, Gad-Willing.

Usually if you have a strong run defense at beginning of season it last until the end of the season but if you have a poor run defense it usually doesn’t get fixed until off-season.

My bubba.
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just observing your skewed way of viewing things and how you present them to others.
It's wonderfully weird and sometimes flummoxing.

Flummoxing... how you like that @GimmeTheBall!

I don't agree with you on a lot of things, but the defensive pass rush being overrated, I think you are 100% correct. Parsons had 13 sacks last season, the next highest was Armstrong with 5 sacks.
Armstrong, Gallimore, OSA, Tank, Fowler, Watkins, and Hill had a combined 17 sacks between them last season. Sam Williams is a complete unknown, hopefully Parsons can build off last season, but our pass rush isn't as good as people make it seem, I think it's a huge question mark for this team.

I'm on board with that.
The DL should not be judged prematurely now.
