I think his injury is part of why he was cut. But how is he redundant? He is nothing like our other TEs. He was our only blocking TE on a team with possibly a crappy blocking OL that wants to run the ball a lot

I don't see him as a blocking specialist type.

He is a lesser version of both Schultz and Ferguson.

Don't be surprised if Maher, Noah Brown, CJ Goodwin and a few other vets get cut. Given their vet vesting they are not subject to waivers so the team will make moves like that to clear space for IR then re-sign them.

I believe he's one of those vet releases that will be back once players are placed on IR to return.

Based on this that Risen just posted, I don't think he will be after all.

Those are definitely the three we'll resign to be the IR replacements, although if we pick up a different kicker it wouldn't hurt my feelings.

Hoping they are having second thoughts about DiNucci, realizing that we're cooked no matter which one of them is the No. 2. Might as well go with the younger guy with some upside.

Maher, McQuaide and Goodwin were. They are the re-sign guys IMO. I mean, Goodwin could be out with how many corners we want to keep, but I doubt it.

I don't think Brown is getting cut. They made enough other cuts to make any roster moves as to moving players to IR.

Maher, McQuaide, Goodwin, Watkins.
I don't think there are more than 4 they will move to short term IR.

Lewis, Joseph, Mukuamu the only 3 I can think of for now.

Good, hope that means they will keep only 2 QB's, and use that roster spot for another player that can contribute.

However it doesnt mean they won't bring him back and still keep 3 QB's.

I had a feeling Grier would be gone after he badly misthrew our receivers so many times this last preseason game. He totally crapped the bed. Instead, now we are stuck with Noodle Arm Cooper Rush.

I think they initially kept DiNucci and Gilbert on the PS last year.
