Read those reports carefully, these moves aren't official yet. I'm sure these moves will happen but at the time of posting they were reporting on future events they assume will happen.

I would not be surprised if there is an injury settlement for Washington and they let him walk.

Go figure a st player over a Qb or kicker to the 53. Guess both of those will be the PS callups

They will set a trend by using the PS to stash QBs. With the new PS rules , this is a very smart move.

can only do it three times per player, then the player has to be signed to the roster. Good to start the year but not a long term solution.

They could have already done that. Waived / injured. Then reverts back to IR. Then they reach a settlement.
Or keep him on IR all season long.

They will keep him on IR as long as they can. If needed he will be activated. If not, then may outright release him from IR. Or reach that settlement. Or can keep him on it as well.

They gain nothing by reaching a settlement or releasing him. He can be of value if need be. As if a WR goes down or one is not working out.

That’s correct, but as the year progresses, players often go to IR opening up a roster spot for them.

Goodwin is a luxury at this point. It makes no sense to bring him back. Let's see who get's cut when they need to make room for a kicker because that guy is going to make room for a special teams player.

For sure. Just interesting that the chose CJ over Rush or Maher. Guess they will be one of the four protected players?

I expect it is because CJ and McQuade are not in danger of losing their jobs.

Not that interesting at QB. Dallas can elevate Rush 3 times and Grier 3 times meaning they can steal a roster spot for 6 full weeks.
I wish they had done this with Dowdle and Davis at RB too tbh.

Before I saw that both QBs (Rush and Grier) were put on the practice squad, I thought Goodwin would end up there and be called up the first three games. I actually like this better because Rush and Grier can both be called up for total of six games, which makes it twice as long before we have to add a QB to the 53. Of course, I would have rather DiNucci been one of the QBs on the practice squad.

Think that they could have. The problem with it is that they also put Maher on the PS, so kicker and quarterback will be the two positions we call up for at least the first three weeks unless a roster spot opens because of injury.
