I'm still shaking my head at Arkansas alum Jerry Jones not having enough sense to either draft him late or make him a priority UDFA. It was easy to see in college that Peters had the skills to be an offensive tackle, with tight end movement skills in a 320-pound body. For all those who think Jerry has some kind of special affinity for signing former Razorbacks, this would have been the time for him to do it.
Don’t be negative and whine about the “what if’s”. He’s a Cowboy now and playing a position that is in sorely need of depth. Be happy. Jeez.

Watch his feet and his power.

Peters at 40 is 10× better than Ball or McGovern.

It's silly to even compare them.

No doubt about that as Tackle , his technique is good and feet movement too , punch is also spectacular, I see many light DEs pushed back yard or so. I was just mentioning about using him as TE, LOL.
May be he can tackle eligible in redzone , like Terence caught a ball last year.

Dallas needed the help obviously at the LT position but I for one am looking at week 1 vs. TB as a 'hold your breath' scenario given the QB rush prowess TB has and the weak left side of the OL Dallas will have for that game. Hate to say it but a win does not matter as much as getting out of that game injury free at the QB and OL positions.
You hate to say it and I hate to hear it, but I agree with it.

Nice insurance signing. Hopefully Tyler develops quickly and Peters can be our swing guy.
"Jump back, wanna kiss myseff!....................HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!"
Having McGovern as a starter on the O-line is a bigger worry to me than who ends up at LT. I want Tyler to do well as our LT, but right now I'd rather he play guard & have Peters play LT.

And the whole point about Tyler at LG is over your head?
Tyron Smith being healthy was not over my head. You can't take that player off the field when he's able to contribute. So that forces Tyler Smith to play guard next to Tyron. He still gets game experience and develops as an NFL lineman. It's just not in the position we all know he would eventually be inheriting. That situation changed when Tyron went down. Tyler's timeline to play LT changed that second. Jason Peters is no substitute for Tyron and signing him does not restore the conditions that made Tyler Smith playing LG a necessity. So, what do I not get?

He practiced yesterday. I'd say it's official.

really odd we have not seen any numbers, i can't remember a situation where they were this closed lipped about the contract details in recent history.

If he can help Tyler Smith be a better LT, then it's not a mistake but if he takes away opportunities from Tyler Smith then he's a progress stopper which is a mistake.
But the plan was never to have Tyler Smith play LT this year

Likely due to the fact there was a frantic scramble to make the deal happen and are in wait-and-see mode to see if it works. Any blusterous flaunting of the deal will happen down the road according to the team win/loss record.

I find it pretty odd we have not heard anything in numbers by this point…
Right now he is on the PS, so can only get the PS vet Max. I'm not sure if you can give a two way contract in Football. But I'm sure they agreed on numbers
