Does Dak get his job back if Rush goes 6-2 by the bye?

Romo lost his job to a hot Prescott.

Does the same happen to Prescott ???

If we are 6-2 by the bye, then Prescott has the rest of the year to recover.

I'm just sayin' ...
Rush won't get a chancento go 6-2 my friend and I'm certain the 40mil QB here WILL get his job back lol. Dak will be back in a few weeks rather he's ready or not.

They're going to get Dak back as quick as possible even if it's too early.

Dak will get his job back because Rush won't have enough time to go on a run like we did in 2016.

The problems will start when/if Dak starts playing bad. If Rush plays well and Dak comes in a stinks it up then you're going to have drama in big D.

I could see this being a Foles/Wentz situation where Dak tries to come out and show he's the man but just plays bad instead because his confidence is shattered.

Of course.
The team was 12-5 last year and Dak is not 35 years old.

And yes, I do think Romo should've gotten his job back in 2016, though I get why he didnt.

It was obvious by 2016 that Romo wasn't the guy to get it done, I was 100% behind the switch to Dak. Now, it's 100% obvious that Dak isn't the guy and it's time to move on to someone else.

Not sure if Rush will be given that opportunity or not, to be honest I think he needs to play a more complete game than he did against Cincinnati to give that conversation actual life though. He should have a decent chance to do so against some lesser teams coming up though.

What I do know is if the Cowboys win the next two games, and yes both are winnable games the discussion gets ramped up. Jerry gave life to the idea last week after the news broke.

Reality is Dak is a more talented quarterback, but the Cowboys are 6-6 over Dak's last 12 games with just one win against a team with a winning record. The Cowboys are 2-0 under Rush, and if that gets to 4-0 or especially 5-0 this conversation gets a lot more credible. We have a bit to go before we get to that point though.

If he actually starts winning games like that no possibly way I would strategy Dak.

But the chance of that...

Not with that contract. Dak gets the job back even if Cooper is throwing for over 500 yards and perfect passer rating week in and out with wins in every game. The bar will be unreasonably high. This team paid Jaylon Smith to play crippled linebacker for years because he made good marketing sense.

Two different circumstances. Jerry Jones saw a replacement franchise quarterback in Dak Prescott in 2016. I extremely doubt he sees the same in Cooper Rush.

Under Jones, head coaches have been given much leeway by some observers about who they decide to suit up or carry clipboards. In my opinion, Jones has massive input in those decisions.

I think Jones and Jason Garrett's views aligned in 2016. Now I am curious to see what will happen when Dak Prescott is medically cleared to return, especially if Rush plays well during his absence.

My opinion is that Prescott will get his starter job back, which should happen with any starting quarterback sustaining an injury unless practice competition between returning starter and backup quarterback determines otherwise. That said, my personal assessment of Mike McCarthy will become more favorable if Rush remains the starter. That outcome will tell me he has asserted himself against Jones' wishes, which has been a rare occurrence since the mid-1990s (not counting much of Bill Parcells tenure).

Clearly you don't understand how this FO works. More important to not look bad than anything else. Rush could go undefeated and win every game convincingly, they still gonna trot Dak out there the first possible second than admit the colossal mistake with him and that conract.

Dak will be back for the Rams game.
The next 2 games are winnable. NYG and Washington are winnable games with our defense and Cooper driving the bus.
So leave Cooper in, do not rush (no pun intended) Dak back for the Washington game.

However, Dak coming in on the road against what is supposed to be a tough defense, and he does not do so well....man watch out...
I don't think the Rams defense is as good as it once was based on their 2 games so far this season.
