1. Every qb, on every level is coddled.
2. In the 2021 season, Dak Prescott was 5-4 (.555) against winning teams.
3. Dak is 18-24 (.428) all-time against winning teams.
4. Dak is currently ranked 10th among active qbs ranking.
5. Colin is a talking head that says hot takes for clicks and views.

You just made my point. Y'all still coddle Romo even though anyone who understands football knows keeping Dak the starter after leading the team to a franchise record 11 game win streak was the correct thing to do, especially against a 36 year old injury-prone QB who was once again coming off another season long serious injury. Y'all are still butthurt, hence why y'all still act up against Dak to this day.
Pay attention. No one is talking about how the fans coddle the players, which means nothing. Also, learn the definition of the term.

Honestly, these numbers are so weird. Nevertheless, it also made me see it's not always the QB talent. Take it all in for however you envision it though. This is not me homering on Dak.
-Here is your official resource to see every active NFL Quarterback’s record against teams with a winning record. While I think the whole argument is bogus because wins and losses are a team stat, to say Dak sucks because of it shows that you're not interested in the facts.

Romo was coddled by the team in that he never faced any competition for his job, but he was constantly criticized by the media until 2014. Parcells gave him a hard time and only reluctantly replaced Bledsoe with him.

Dak has been coddled by the team in the same way Romo was even when the more experienced vet who could provide that legit competition was already on the roster. He has also been coddled by the media his entire career.

#1 overall draft pick, 3 time SB champion and Hall of Famer Aikman faced legitimate competition for his job when his coach brought in someone to provide that competition.

I can't think of another QB who has been overall coddled more than Dak. In the long run, the best thing that could have happened to/for Dak and the Cowboys is to have had to compete for the job against Romo. Backing up Romo for a season or two would have been the best thing for him and the Cowboys.

Johnson helped Aikman by bringing in competition. Parcells helped Romo by constantly nagging at him, even when guy's like Woodson were saying Romo was already the best QB on the team as a rookie. Even Landry had Staubach and Morton shuttling back and forth, as well as LeBaron and Meredith.

I used the word coddled with regards to Dak just last week in the thread about McCarthy's decision to keep him off the practice field because "things can happen out there" or whatever the exact gibberish McCarthy used to justify that decision was.

That movie was brutal.
Really brought up some questions for most relationships that are true and personal.

It took me finding the One to frame everything into perspective and then the movie's premise even got more brutal.

I agree with Redford. My girl is not for sale.
Not for a billion and if she advocates for it...
She's truly not my girl.
And that moment will hang over our heads till we inevitably separate.

And that will happen, no matter how much we think we love each other.

Lakers, then the GS warriors. btw are by FAR the 2 most coddled teams in sports. Hands down.
Amen. The Celtics have as many Championships as the Lakers, but Lebron and the Lakers get a segment in virtually every hour of every sports show every day.

Dallas? There’s a rant on every show every day about how overrated they are, how they’re not really America’s Team, how they’re not going anywhere, then they’re picked to lose their next game. Every show has one or two official Dallashaters, who give daily diatribes. The Cowboys get more negativity than anyone, by a MILE, which is the opposite of coddling.

Good post! But different styles for different coaches. Bill wasn't going to coddle anyone Neither was Jimmy . They just don't build men that way anymore My Dad fought in WWII and while I'm glad he didn't coddle me (I'm not sure he knew the word). I'm just not built like he was.

"You're the quarterback for America's Team making $40 million and you can't beat good teams."

Colin Cowherd says stuff like this and Fox Sports pays him +$6 million a year for viewers and clicks.

"You're the quarterback for America's Team making $40 million and you can't beat good teams."

Posters says stuff like this and CowboysZone pays them squat.

Either the site should start compensating folks for free content. Or some members should start second-guessing what is really their motivation helping sport talking heads get rich for stuff they already read here.

Wonder if anyone from Colin's show makes Colin aware of the fact that his takes on Dak are constantly posted here on CowboysZone. I'm sure all of these sports talk shows keeps track of social media to see what NFL topics they can go to, in order to always get them the attention and views they want. But also wondering if they know that their takes will get posted on forums like this one.

There's definitely an art to being a hardarse. It's easy to take it to far and get negative results.

Legendary hardarse Tom Coughlin took it to far in 2007 and almost lost his struggling team. Strahan had a 'come to Jesus' meeting with him about it. Coughlin listened and we all know how that turned out. Wade Phillips was definitely not a hardarse.

Dungy and Walsh had success with the softer, gentler approach but they both had guys on the roster to fill the hardarse role.

It's definitely a different world now.

11 straight wins, yet you wanted an open competition??? You Romoholics are the absolute worst fans in Cowboys history!! Yet, here you are nonstop with your personal stupid agenda simply because you can't handle how Romo was rightfully replaced! Bunch of freaking sorelosers!

Some are really comparing the winning streak the Cowboys had with Dak in 2016 to Cooper Rush playing one half of good football. And are acting like these are the same situations. That's when you know the dislike towards Dak is bias.

Relax. We are going to see how this all plays out for Dak in the coming future. Just WAIT for it. Were starting to see it now and it will all come full circle with no excuses.

I don’t get caught up in statistics as they can be manipulated to make a case for both sides of any argument. I place credence in what all QBs are ultimately judged: playoff wins and Super Bowls. For various reasons, all of which have been discussed and debated on this site, Dak simply falls short of the mark. He has had legit offensive weapons, a solid running game and the unwavering support of the FO. Yet he has simply not delivered…Dak has been the QB for about 7 years maybe…and all we have to show for it are wins against JAG teams and lopsided losses against good teams.
When does the FO stop wearing those rose-colored glasses and quit toking the Panama Red and come to the realization that another QB is needed?

nope…..95% of fans know that Rush is a career backup….stop making up stuff to prop up Dak. It’s lame
