Hmm, I don’t think he’s talking about Dallas if there’s any truth to him wanting to come there.

Many teams have been more dysfunctional than the Cowboys. LV, DET, WAS, NYJ, CLE, MIA, HOU, JAX, ARI…
I think all of those teams you listed, except for Det, have more playoff wins over the last 20 years than the Cowboys.

Cleveland has 1 or 2, LV i believe has 2 and only because of exactly 20 years ago in 2002, Washington has 1 or 2, Miami I don’t even think has 2, Jacksonville has 2 in 2017 and I think that’s it, Houston maybe 1 or 2…

Dallas has 2009, 2014, 2018

I wanted Payton but the way he's acting with this subliminal beta talk he can stay where he is. Moving real weak. Say it wit ya chest or don't say it
I am not sold on Payton. I really don't want him of we have to give up draft picks for him. If we can get him for free I'm 50/50. Would Quinn be better? I'd want to keep the defense on track so I'm more in the mindset of keeping Quinn at all costs. JMO

He also said this........

"it’s all about having the kind of ownership and front office he thinks he can work well with and will help him build a winning culture."

What's there to work well with? Jerry does the exact same thing every season regardless of how well, or how poorly the team played the previous year. This isn't the same Jerry that got Haley, Deion, and Owens. He doesn't do any of that anymore.
Yup, Jerry’s arrogance will always win, he can’t help himself.

Payton's resume is identical to MM's. Both had hall of famer qb's & won one SB. Only difference? Payton has one year more in the NFL then MM. He's far from "functional" himself. Why some are so fixacted on this guy thnking he's a god as a HC is beyond comprehension.
What’s the alternative? Peyton grew under Parcells (and hopefully emulates him some), has a good offensive mind, and a pretty good track record…..sure DQ is good for defense, but as a HC I think Payton might be the best that might come available from experienced coaches. IMO..

If we do that, I would hope we move on from KM

The only teams with fewer playoff wins than Dallas last 20 years are LV, 2 Wash 1, Cleve 1, Miami 0, Det 0. Good company to be keeping. BTW Houston has most playoff wins than the Cowboys and JAX has the same number..The Eagles almost have 5 times as many playoffs wins.

Not functional? When you have the kind of defense the Cowboys have, you are about as functional as it can get.

When your team can beat the defending AFC champions with a backup QB, you are functional.

……until said team reaches the post season and they fold like a cheap suit.

Losing a home game to a wildcard team is a bad as it gets

and once again we have Rubbernan (the guy who contorted himself into knots defending Garrett for a decade) now coming to the defense of the old geezer

you just cannot knock sense into this fan base
