Gotta love the GWB you're either with us or against us mentality.

I will say in terms of just 2022 cap space, keeping Cooper at a reduced cap hit(restructure) would of made more sense than keeping Schultz on the tag.
Now factoring in 2023 cap hits, and off the field drama(?) maybe it was fine to trade Cooper this past offseason. Maybe not. He can either continue to ball out or go awol for a stretch.

I think the bigger issue wasn't trading Cooper but hoping Gallup comes back healthy early on and relying on a 22 draft pick and Washington to make up the slack.
They put their eggs in CDL stepping up to the plate with chopped liver at #2 & 3 before Gallup comes back.

Amari Cooper was the only plus talent they lost so the only thing that really stings right now but his money was definitely an issue and he was pouting because he knew like anyone with a brain the move was coming.
He was earmarked for flat release and NO NFL Team would beat a 5th round pick for him on that deal.

The Browns are in the cake portion of their schedule.
Let's revisit after that insane middle of the season run with Bucs, Pats, Bills, Chargers, Ravens, Bengals.

Cooper was supposed to take Dallas to the next level. He didn't. But let's continue blaming Dak. Amari fans honestly think Jerry wanted to keep paying this guy $20 million per season when CeeDee was outplaying/perfoming him? He would only come to practice when he felt like it. No Covid vaccine. Why do you think he's now on his 3rd NFL team at the age of 28? The man has head problems.

Get over your man crushes. It's not like teams were lining up to acquire Mr. Wonderul. That's why he's with the depleated Browns & ranked att #30 while Lamb is ranked at #8. PLEEZ!

That basically is it.
They pre-determined they were done with Amari.
He was missing practice days and complaining about targets as CeeDee surpassed him in targets and yards.
But with his value low you'd have preferred to get the restructure done that the Browns did.
The issue with that plan is Amari knew he was trade bait so he had little reason to take any restructure deal when what he wanted was full FA so he could pick his team and his deal.

CLE after missing on OBJ and Landry were the team who most needed him. And as the obvious WR1 he was happy to sign the restructure.

Dallas front office clearly has ZERO finesse. Thats an eternal issue we have no answer for on the horizon with Stephen Jones in charge.

Why don't you people go and root for the Browns. My goodness who cares about Cooper. You act like this guy was some difference while he was here. We went no where with Cooper.
Where was Dak in the middle of 2018.........

He was about to be thrown on the trash heap of QB 's before Amari showed up.

And that is the flat out truth!

Lol doesnt matter what is actually said if we can use stretch arm strong to blame Dak we will...lol Cooper is gone because he and the owner got at odds..period..I'm not even saying what Cooper got at odds with Jerry about is wrong, nor am i saying i would rother not have Cooper than have him...BUT he is gone because of the very public disput he and the owner had about the "Dont talk about it" issue and missing games because of it..."Availability is the most important thing" but yet Tyron is still here...take a hint people.

You would have a point if ceedee was out here having 100 yd games himself. His last one was with Cooper Rush

What Ceedee is doing has nothing to fo with Cooper. The offense is predicated on ball distribution not forcing it yo 1 guy.

Swing nd miss

Dak can't do what Brissett can do and got 40 million. That's the scarier part.

Right you missed your calling..31 other FO's also do not think Brissett is who they wanted, you would have had an easy contract negotiation for your starting QB. As an NFL GM you would have been the one who discovered Jacoby Brissett had not been given the right chance to succeed.
Remeber he will be available again come week 11 as the Browns will be starting a guy who has not hit the field in 2 years....

20 mil for a receiver that has 2 more receptions than Noah Brown? I'll pass.

Noah Brown 10 receptions
Amari Cooper 19 receptions

Amari has played one more game.

I wonder how Amari will do once Deshaun Watson starts playing
for the Browns. OR are we saying Jacoby Brisset and Dak Prescott
are both about the same level.

I already posted again saying I changed my mind, I was wrong. Back to back 101 yard games in weeks #2 and #3 on a new team with a backup QB?

I just feel as though the Cowboys squandered a golden opportunity last season.

If Coop would have stayed, we weren't going to use him anyway. Might as well let him go and do what he do with another franchise.

Jerry Jones has this franchise under lock and key.

I'm trying not to fret about it because it's not going to change for the foreseeable future (and, no, I'm not one of those who try to predict people's demise. I don't go there. So, I don't look forward to anyone's death. People's lives are more than football, and I'm not going to rush anyone off just because I want my team to go into a different direction.)

Thats like saying I wasted 5 bucks on a lotto ticket before they pulled the winning lotto numbers. You dont think the front office knew it was going to be a few weeks to get Gallup back? Let me ask you this...... have you seen anything from Noah Brown to think he could not be an outstanding number 3? Gallup is coming back. They were banking on Gallup continuing what he showed in flashes last year. So you add in Cee dee, Gallup and Brown, and than lets give Mr. 3rd rounder a year to see if he does anything and THEN you can say whether or not getting rid of Cooper was a good or bad decision. I personally think it was a great decision. He was not worth 20 million on the cap....... no way , no how. Looks like we finally have a legit defense, and just like anything in the NFL.... the cap looms. Diggs contract looms, Lambs contract looms..... and we all know Mr. Parsons contract is down the pike.

The cap sucks, and it forces teams to make moves every year tat tey dont want to. I dont pay attention to every team, but Im pretty sure the titans let an all pro lineman walk, not because they wanted to, but because they had to make a choice they didnt want to make.

BUT, you dont like THe Jones', so there you have it.

There has been smoke about Cooper's attitude, I'll give you that. However, I have known more than one person who comes across as Cooper does, but it's just the way they roll and has nothing to do with motivation and desire to succeed.

If you look at it objectively you might see that Gruden was trading almost everyone with any value, to rebuild the Raiders. He was in complete rebuild mode, and paying a top tier receiver at that point of a rebuild just doesn't make sense when you get significant draft capital by trading him.

He came to the Cowboys and instantly breathed life into the offense. Night and day kinda life. He was the toast of this town. It's ridiculous to think he just stopped trying, or forgot how to play.

Sometimes guys like him get frustrated when put in situations they can't succeed in. I don't like that attitude, but I can understand it. For whatever reasons, trouble began between him and Dak, and him and Jerry. Clearly that played a role in his departure. Makes me wonder who really has the head problems.

Money also played a role in his departure. I can see both sides of that. Keep Cooper, lose Lamb, or vice versa. I might have went with the more sure thing but we'll see how it plays out.

I do think that saying he is now on his third team because he's a headcase is ridiculous. Hell, one of my favorite receivers of all time, our own Michael Irvin, was a headcase. lol

Getting rid of Collins-awesome

whiffing on Gregory-We are one of the top sacking teams in the nfl

Trading Cooper-single handily the worst decision of this year. Amari Cooper had too much value to get rid of and for what we gave him up for. If the rumors are true that he and Dak had a falling out and we caved in, we are so stupid to do so

all in all, I miss Amari Cooper
sorry But allow Gallup and Washington to play with Lamb and with Dak the rest of the way..i like your TWO(2) game sample size to say what has or hasnt worked out..sorry the plan will unfold, and we can debate that in February, NOT 2 games in..Jeez fans are just clueless.

ridiculous, 17 now we miss coop posst.gi be browns fan.i don't miss him and we will also as a Team not miss him once 17 games are in the books we can see whos correct.

Ac here, we are still 1-1 no doubt, sorry this is another too soon and poorly times post.so lets play 17l let AC play 17 and lets go back and check this plan.

Holy heck it’s been 2 weeks guys. Gallup hasn’t even played yet.

You cannot make this claim now lol. Wait until the season is over before you analyze a trade/cut winner and loser. Shoot, takes a few more years than that but it’s clear patience is not a part of this forums culture lol.
Nah 2 games they made up their minds. thats the sign of sports idiocy. overreaction hyperbole and rhetoric. Insanity!
