It wasn't an accident. Jerry deliberately went back and tried to get that clause in the contract. Gregory balked and the rest is history. It was a deliberate move on Jerry's part (maybe even knowing that Gregory wouldn't sign it).

Where do you have that information from ?

From what i read Stephen Jones explained to the press that the clause is in every of their contracts and also in Gregory's. It wasnt put in afterwards.

Gregory was the one who didnt accept the contract. JJ wanted him but Gregory showed him the door. Not the other way around.

JJ is trying for weeks now to twist the facts around and make them look like he was the one who made the decission. But it wasnt that way. Fact is JJ is a flat our lier. He was, he is and always will be. The guy is not to be trusted.

Jerry lying through his teeth (literally offered the guy a contract) & still taking all the credit for personnel decisions. Some things never change.

so a tweet with a sentence pulled out of a 20 plus minute conversation and you are taking it as the gospel? smh

In Jerry talk, I think he’s trying to say the 3 guys we can sign for that price will together outperform the one guy.

The organization wanted Gregory back without question. Looking back, I am happy where we are without him and feel good about what we have in place. Things work out for a reason sometimes.

Jerry is Barnum and Bailey and he loves the circus.
But that doesn't mean he is lying here or that he is wrong to be ticked off.
He stood by Randy and invested a ton of resources behind the scenes into Randy.
Then Randy and his agent went on a publicity tour whining for some reason when they got a very large deal they liked in Denver.

If ever there was a time to be gracious it is when you walk away with a fat paycheck on the other end that the current employer helped you acquire.

Randy has always been a sensitive guy and has struggled on twitter because of it but the fiasco over the contract was just another sign of immaturity.

I think he made that decision after Gregory asked him to take out the clause when Denver matched the money Dallas was willing to throw at him. Jones is good at telling the story in whatever way casts him in the best light.

Then why did he offer Gregory a big contract?

Jerry is trash.

Don't care anymore. It is done and over with. Just like the past 27 seasons. Time to move on. Look forward not back.

There are a lot of good things happening right now. So get pumped up about that.
We have a defense that will get better.
The OL is improving.
We get Gallup back, as the WR group looks not to be as dismal as many said it would be.
Cooper has proven himself so far, and Dak will be just fine when he returns. More  for you there.
Moore may have figured out a balance with using Zeke and Tony, but just needs to stick with the run.

In spite of Jerry, things are looking up, let's see if it continues.

Were 2-1 and Brown is playing on par with Cooper. WR room has been just fine considering no Gallup.

So now you want the balance between Zeke and Tony? Better late then never.

We have 2 guys that are better then. Him and a rookie who’s younger and more athletic

IDK if on par with Coop and while bold it cant be dismissed.
Brown is proving everyone in the room wrong that thought he was merely just a special teams player.
Brown could really shock the nation and become such a disciplined route runner as Coop, but with a much better locker room personality.
Muhammad Sanu part 2 if we are lucky, and I gladly welcome that production.

Well, they added the clause that caused him say bye bye, so maybe that was intentional.

So how does this work? Jerry wakes up, Stephen tells them they are paying Gregory $70 million, Jerry goes to bed. Jerry wakes up next morning and has buyers remorse so they add that clause into the contract to make Gregory bolt?

Interesting theory. One problem. What if Gregory agreed to the clause? Then what?

Jerry is doing what Jerry does best. Spin bullcrap.

Wish we collectively (fanbase, media, organization) would just let Randy go. We sound like ex-gf's at this point, and it's nauseating.

People act like we just let Harvey Martin sign elsewhere.

Hey, I never said it was a good theory. But it's possible they were borderline with the price, and decided to add that clause, and if he said okay, then cool. If not, that's okay too.

Gregory was dead to me after that play. That was the personal nonsense expected of a young player at the Pee Wee or junior high level. It was definitely a selfish lack of self-restraint during a critical situation from a professional sports athlete.

My wife is a Broncos fan, so I am sometimes "forced" to watch some Denver games at least. Gregory is still old Gregory from what I have seen thus far.

I held much hope in him after he was drafted. Tried to stay positive about him during his time in Dallas. Now he is gone. Good riddance.
With you 100% on that sentiment.

Im surprised he is handling, that stuff is really strong and the air is thin in the 5280.
Off topic, but this is a one-off:
I get a kick out this fad of "weed destination vacations".
So... you want to not remember what you did and spend money on it?

Some of it is so strong that you can't remember.

So the difference between now and when I used to partake is that now you want to keep the receipts and photographic evidence.
