Can we be smart like Ravens if Lamb doesn't step up?

To be honest he's been a disappointment this far in to the year. I will say how he laughed off the drop a gimme to the public was not a fan, maybe some natural bias there, he has yet to prove he was our best receiver, I still don't get the Cooper dilemma besides politics. If he just contributes like he has, I say we trade him and turn the wheel and get a first round cheap wr next year, unless he shows us something substantially more.

I didn’t love the laughing either because that’s not how I’d react, but that’s him. Im sure he was laughing off the embarrassment.

I’d guess they question how Cooper makes decisions and what information he trusts to make those decisions came into question and may reveal a character flaw. (In their opinion and just a guess)
He also had a high salary. Maybe too high.

To give us a first for him when he drops the ball so much would be surprising to me. I'd start my offer off at a 3rd! That could turn into a 2nd based on how many catches etc he catches or whatever

He hasn't lived up to the hype maybe he's just always going to be a number 2, he needs someone else to take the pressure off

I agree that Lamb is not a 25M a year WR. But he's still a pretty good WR.

On the laughing. I wasn't laughing. But I didn't drop that pass either. I played WR. Trust me, no one feels worse that the WR that drops the pass. I'm not going to kill him over it. Whatever gets him through it. Everyone is different.

The laughing was just a defensive mechanism……it’s the “wow I really dropped that easy pass” it happens. He’s a young receiver it’s going to happen.

Right now He’s a good receiver but he hasn’t hit his potential yet and not sure if he will.

But this organization under McCarthy has earned my trust. I’ve written them all off just for Noah Brown, Cooper Rush, Tyler Smith , etc to all look like studs. They’ve determined that Lamb is a #1 so I’m gonna ride it out with them.

These threads are always funny. This guy sucks so we should trade him for a first.

I don’t think we have to pay this dude for another 1 or 2 years. Maybe let it play out and see what you have.

On the drop the other night, he did initially laugh it off and gestured his bad. On the sidelines they showed a moment where he smiled, exhaled and then cussed himself. He was disappointed in himself and you could see it. He came back and redeemed himself for that drop. Played mad. He ran that defender over and almost scored and then turned around the next play and made a remarkable catch for a one handed td. He’s put up good stats his first 2 years (cue those who say the games changed, he had coop, he’s not a 1, blah blah). We are 3 damn games into this season. He’s young. We’re a young team playing with a lot of backups. Let it play out.

I wish we could watch you at your job.

Its remarkable how season potential can be based on 3 damn games. Lamb is not the only player on this team who has been judged by 3 damn games and its absolutely comical for the people who do this.

People really need to educate themselves on what football progression is about.

So you're actually commending the FO. Rather than keeping Coop and letting Lamb feed off the lesser coverage and then paying him top dollar based on WR2 performance, we've actually promoted him to WR1 and can evaluate him as such.

I agree with all of the comments that mention his hands (and possible dips in concentration) possibly confirm he shouldnt be paid as a top WR....however the greater problem (which may well be beneficial as it wont effect his trade value), is that Dak doesnt get the best out of him and Lambs NEEDS the ball thrown in front of him (on the slant), to benefit from his after catch abilities. Im sure a different QB would get the best out of CD and if we could get a 1st i'd agree get the taxi ready.

As for your comment about Coop....we wanted to free CAP space (along with DLaw's restructure) to sign Randy and possibly put the Offensive onus on the expensive QB.

I think he might be kinda a Donald Driver level WR, and thats not a bad thing. Thats just not a top tier WR. But in fairness there are only a handful of them

Honestly some of these guys likely got tired of running routes, creating some separation, and not having the ball come out. Obviously that huge drop got into CDees head, let's see what happens this week.

If I were Jerry I would put together a highlight reel of Lamb's drops to show him when he demands top dollar during his contract negotiations.

I don’t understand what you are saying. Rush gets the ball out quickly. Are you referring to the play in the last game where ceedee was wide open deep middle and rush didn’t see him and threw short? Are you thinking lamb was frustrated by that and maybe similar plays?

Greets to all,
I'd like to see less drama and 'nose wiping' and more concentration on his craft, personally.

Yeah I mean I think he is now. He may have hit his ceiling. I’m not entirely sure what he does “great” at this point in his career. But let’s see by seasons end. That drop might propel him to legendary status because that catch he made for a TD…..he flashes his ceiling….

CD isnt woth 30 million a year, not even close. They should talk about an extension. But if he wants max money just transition tag him with a 1st round offer see if any team wants him.
