it can be a 3 safety cross scheme, but that 3rd safety is gonna be sidelined in certain instances.
And neither Wilson nor Kearse are center fielders, so they won't threaten Malik Hooker. .

And as Wilson will be an UFA at season's end, the cowboys (Stephen) are not gonna likely tangled in negotiation webs with a guy in a 3rd safety role.
They may even think Izzy or Markus Bell could be an eventual replacement for Wilson .
Hooker is incredibly injury prone. If you want to keep him for 17 games, they would be smart to pull him on run downs and play Wilson at FS and Kearse at SS. Wilson isnt a FS on passing downs, but in run downs he has good enough range and play recognition to defend the play action.

On passing downs they will like have Kearse at "LB", Wilson at SS and Hooker at FS

Possibly try him at LVE’s spot

This actually would not be as crazy as it sounds. The guy has the build to play modern ILB and he is a tackling machine. Not to mention that he is an absolute eraser in coverage against backs and tight ends. They need to find a way to get him back on the field when healthy. He is one of our 5 best defenders and he needs to be out there.

Put LVE on the bench and put Kearse in at LB.
LVE plays as a Stack & Shed MLB. That is completely opposite of the hybrid LB role that Kearse plays in 3 Safety sets.

FYI - Mukuamu played that role with Kearse out. Mukuamu played a career high 38% of snaps in the Washington game.

Donovan Wilson played 57% of the snaps last season.

Dan Quinn's base is a 3 Safety set.

Wilson is a real find for the scouting department as no draft resource thought much of him at all.

Hooker was been injury prone.. in the past.in his Colts dayz.
But has he been injury prone since hes' joined the Cowboys ?

- If Hooker is showing movement skills and range as he did last year in a limited role, they apparently still believe in his pre-draft ball hawk skills as he was
a top 10 overall prospect coming out of college.
If they think they can even get a portion of that player, they'll glad take that low risk- high reward chance.

- While Wilson himself does have ball hawk INT skills, but does not have that kind of athleticism and range for
centerfielder middle work that Hooker and Izzy does.
* if that was the case, Wilson would've very likely been challenging over Hooker at that role right now.

- And BTW, with what 2nd year Izzy has been displaying and showing promising, i'm not as worried about Hooker's durability as much
at this point.

- What was once a perennial revolving door and lacking position, it's amazing how the quality, promising, and deep this safety position has suddenly become.

Dont get me wrong...I like Coach Orgeron's breakdowns and content...

But he also claimed Bradley Anae was worth watching out for. Anae might actually have a unique skill that lets him get to the QB its just no team is allowing him to play

He played less than 450 snaps last year, so he definitely hasnt played enough to shake the injury prone label. Especially considering his long injury history
