Washington got him throwing off his back foot a lot yesterday. Better teams/defenses will expose why he’s been a career backup. Yesterday was the weakest game he’s had so far this season but our defense and a couple of calls against Washington that negated 2 INTs bailed him out.

Yes. He cannot attempt that deep pass over the middle that was picked when throwing off his back foot. He knows his limitations and you just have to live with that. I don't know at what point the flag was thrown, but unless he saw it get thrown, he needed to eat that one or throw it away (if there wasn't a closer open receiver.

Bottom line is that this was the FIRST game Rush played this year with his Oline didnt play well. The previous two they were giving him all day to throw and opening up big holes in the run game. There was nowhere to run, and he was pressured. Two picks got called back by penalty and he struggles most of the day.

But he did get the job done late with a couple nice throws and TD's. Most of the scores were set up by PI.

Yeah, I'm not trying to be overly critical. He still made plenty of nice throws, and sometimes throwing it up there and giving your receiver a chance, like he did on the Gallup DPI where the defender went over his back, isn't a bad thing. There's a good chance that interference will be called if your receiver is good at high-pointing the ball.

Throwing off his back foot may happen more often if we can’t run the football and we’re facing a stout defensive front. Aaron Donald can certainly make a QB throw off their back foot. We better hope we have some resemblance of a running game against the Rams or the magic carpet ride Cooper Rush is on will come to a crashing end.

I think we all know by now that Cooper Rush is a high-IQ quarterback who makes quick decisions but doesn't have great arm strength. The Commanders essentially challenged him to go deep and if they weren't so handsy with our receivers, it would have worked.

He completed one of the deep play-action passes (to Brown, two were interceptions erased by penalty and at least one other turned into pass interference. Those were all go routes.

Even though we scored 25 points with help from those penalties, I would think this would be considered the blueprint for beating Rush. Play the run and the short stuff and force Rush to try to go over the top. With better corner play, there's a good chance you'll be able to catch up before the ball gets to the receiver unless it's a throw like he made to Brown, which happened only once on those routes.
Key to playing the Cowboys (Rush or Dak): Stop the Run.

The two picks he threw were ill advised passes from the get go. Especially the first one. That was a pressure pick.

The Rams are going to be very tough to beat. But they also need to worry about Stafford. He's not exactly mobile, and not the greatest under pressure. I'm more worried about the Eagles game. Their QB is highly mobile and they have a great run game. They don't need him to be Tom Brady, just make a few passes. I'm hoping Dak is back by Philly.

I think his eyes lit up on the first one because he saw that Brown was going to be wide open for a big play. But you've got to realize when pressure isn't going to let you make that throw, especially when you're a quarterback that can't just muscle the ball downfield flat-footed.

The second one was into double coverage. I don't know if he thought he had a window or just thought the safety was going elsewhere.

I have no issues at all with Rush. The guy has played incredible in his role. 3-0? Never would have imagined that.

If we can somehow win one of the next two games, it will be a hell of a start. Will set us up nicely going forward.

Even if we are 3-3 it gives us a fighting chance with Dak the rest of the way.

I got slammed a little bit for wanting those field goals to be TDs. If we were up by 14 in the fourth quarter portions would not have almost gotten killed. For simply one reason and I can think of 10 more. But go Cowboys I love that we’re winning with the back up. I can only imagine how much better we will be with Prescott

His arm is not nearly as bad as some are making it out to be. Heck, I watched Tua and was more concerned about his arm than I ever was with Rush.
I haven’t seen any outside throws. Everything over the middle. But I do love his intermediate pass Do you know all the teams are going to pick up on that

True. The best passing remedy for pressure is getting the ball out quickly. Maybe because of how Washington was playing us, we seemed to badly want to take advantage of play-action to go deep. I think the results show us that it wasn't the best game plan, even if Washington committed several penalties when we did it.

Of course, if the Rams can pressure us with four, they are going to sit on the shorter stuff and try to make him hold the ball. They can only do that, though, if they can successfully stop the run.

I guess you haven’t been paying attention because Presscott is deadly. On the deep pass

This is you just a couple weeks ago. You flip flop more than anyone I've ever seen.

Prescott is not taking his team to a championship ever. I’ve done nothing but support him. But the obvious is that. We need a franchise quarterback. Even treating for Garoppolo , It’s only a fix. It’s going to be a long season my cowboy family. But it’s not over til it’s over. This defense will keep us in ball games

I’ve seen enough. Too many mistakes the same ones. I thought he was learning from them but obviously he’s not. That’s the only reason why I’m giving up on him. He’s the best he’s ever going to be and it’s not good enough

The same mistakes over and over. That’s my issue. He’s not growing he’s definitely regressing. I’m done with him. I’m not done with the team though
